Here's the link I mentioned to the absolutely unacceptable take that someone let into the final game. So CLEARLY the wrong read for this line. I don't know who's fault this was. The director's? The engineer? I can't imagine the actor gave this take and was like "yeah, perfect, nice."

It's either that or the Polish system (pinyin is x vs sh, polish is ś vs sz) that would actually be applicable. Once you know the sounds of those letters it is incredibly easy to pronounce pinyin (tone is another issue altogether)

The game says Gnosis lets you become an Archon, and thanks to the latest quest we got a name drop on Celestia and that Gnosis is tied to Celestia. r/GenshinImpact says the extra Lore Material indicates that Celestia raises vision wielders to Archon status.

2021-09-05 06:06:39 +0000 UTCIt is rather misleading at times. I see the Archons as demigods than "Gods", regardless of what the lore establishes. Liyue's government doesn't help this understanding either if you're not too familiar with ancient Chinese history.

2021-09-05 05:10:53 +0000 UTCFor a game whose writing's focus being on the various cultures(and how they parody real world history), and the fact that the VAs are often fresh into their career makes for an easy case of some bad or non-culturally appropriate readings. I'm not even very familiar with the German tongue and I've noticed how "off" it sounds when characters say "Montstadt". It got to the point where it was starting to sound grating. Due to the presentation, world scale and the many voiced characters that play a role, this game is awfully inviting for a lot of newcomers in the VA scene. We can only hope the direction improves in the future.

Lore Nerds contest that there's God Gods, and they're the ones that hand out Visions, and then there's the Archons, who are uber powerful Vision users who godlike in power.
