IMPORTANT -How to evade the apple fee

I have an announcement specifically for the Apple Patreon users.
I have literally just been made aware of this, but Apple is adding a surplus fee to users that pay for Patreon THROUGH the app https://news.patreon.com/articles/understanding-apple-requirements-for-patreon
This impacts all users that set up their subscriptions via the Patreon Apple App Store app (not just if you purchase the subscription via Apple Pay).
If you go to the website, you'll notice there is no change in the price.
My recommendation for those looking to avoid this fee⦠( cause why would you wanna pay extra when you dont need to haha ) Is to access the Patreon via the website, (the link is attached) and resubscribe using the webpage or a browser, NOT THE APPLE APP!
Accessing content using the app still works fine, but if your subscription is made on the app, it will add the additional fee.
Just to clarify, I promise this is not me raising the price of the membership. This is an avoidable FEE that goes to APPLE. If there were ever any changes to the membership prices on my side, there would be announcements and explanations, and it wouldn't be done silently..
