Fantastical Multiverse - Patch 8, News, Troubleshooting, and More
Added 2025-04-15 20:29:40 +0000 UTCFantastical Multiverse 1.6
I'm currently verifying the state of Fantastical Multiverse 1.6 as I'm pretty sure you won't need Improved UI anymore, but other race modders are reporting that passive selection after level 1 isn't working. So I'm going to go through the public files already available.
Fantastical Multiverse 1.9
I've run into an issue where none of my passive selectives on the Fantastical Multiverse (1.9) aren't showing but not sure if this was a problem when I transferred it to the Patch 8 Playtest, so I'm also going through steps to pinpoint that, after I make sure 1.6 is safe and not broken.
I'm going to see if remaking the list fixes this problem, which is just regenerating UUIDs.
Mods that aren't Fantastical Multiverse
Also being checked on. I'm making sure everything works; if not, it will be updated asap!
UI Functionality Improvements
We have been continuing to work closely with mod authors to ensure there are fewer conflicts between game mods and new patches, particularly for those that have ImpUI as a dependency. While the ImpUI mod isn’t currently being maintained, to help keep things running smoothly and to support the creative passion of those in the modding community, we’ve introduced minor changes to how some functionalities are handled in the Toolkit. Now, mod authors will be able to make changes directly for mods that rely on UI tweaks during Character Creation.
The changes now supported natively in the Toolkit include:
Action Resources
Racial spells at LevelUp
Race passives
UI scrolling for Heads, Passives, Equipment, Class, Subclass, and Origin selection
Feat passives
Radial customisation and descriptions
Thank you to Djmr for their incredible work on this mod and for keeping in contact with us while we resolved the conflicts and introduced this functionality, as well as Caites, both who have been particularly helpful, and whose names now lie firmly in the Baldur’s Gate 3 game credits, along with the mod authors who have been helping us test Toolkit functionality!

What this means is you won't need Improved UI because the select passives in races should display on their own, as it's built into Patch 8.
Players using Fantastical Multiverse 1.6 now only need :
5E Spells
Fantastical Compendium
Fantastical [Insert Race You Want to use here]
This will be the same with Fantastical Compendium 1.7 and 1.7 updates.
Players using Fantastical Multiverse 1.9 now only need:
Once I figure out what is not working correctly with Fantastical Multiverse 1.9 you will only need Fantastical Multiverse or whatever Species of the Multiverse file you wish to use. So none of these versions of Fantastical Multiverse will ever require another mod again.
Modding Guidelines Update
To support the new realm of possibilities with the latest Toolkit update, we have now updated the modding guidelines with new information, and will continue curating mods for console. As part of this update, we have reviewed technical requirements, and unfortunately, mods that introduce new playable races are unable to be curated for console. If you’re a mod author, we suggest giving the guidelines a read by clicking here.
I'm hoping to get an answer to why this change was made, but I'm also asking if this applies to subraces.
As of now, what this means is I won't be able to release anything regarding Fantastical Multiverse to consoles. If this changes, I'll try to port the subraces if I'm allowed.
I'm still planning to release Fantastical Multiverse on the official mod page(mod.io). So it will at least be there for PC and Mac users.
Comments
My hope was by the end of April to have most of it out because I thought Patch 8 was going to be released in May. This was because roughly each Playtest took about a month. So I'm about to redo the Orc heads today and release a single file of Orcs first, and start looking through each one since I originally was planning to pull different races but I'm still figuring out why the selectpassives aren't showing.

What's the anticipated timetable for the PC release? The only other race compilation mod on mod.io that's not dead just had it's additional races disabled, so you're our last hope lol
