[NEWS] Road to 2.0 {Fantastical Multiverse} #1

I've been making a lot of new presets while also putting all the passives I've created into the official modding tool. Adding more all body type hairs and beards, etc. I'll likely start putting in all the cosmetic options for each race next week while I finish getting everything mechanically up and running in the tool. Most of the passives, feats, etc. Have been put into the official modding tool so in the next couple of days I'll be reattaching them in the species progression. Going to try to get all the stat blocks set up and finished tonight for each race. Statblocks are found in Character text and they basically assign the basics like weight, size, footstep sound, etc. So aiming to have that done tonight. I usually name mine as Playable_M_SpeciesName & Playable_F_SpeciesName.

I've been also utilizing body tattoos and body markings to make species stand out more. This is actually fairly easy to implement and I've been having alot of fun making more visually unique species for you to play as so not every race will be added.

Let's talk about the taller races and their current state. So I can confirm we will not be using the Enlarge effects on races anymore! No more slowed walking animation, Instead, I can edit the scale of the race in the RootTemplate this lets me adjust the size of the body and maintain the armor integrity. However, I noticed that the Enlarge effect will not adjust the size of the race in the character creation for races like Minotaur and Warforged but they'll be the correct size upon creation and should be the same in Cutscenes but going to confirm this in further testing. So far I can confirm the size adjustment does work and your movement will be normal.

Update to Fantastical Multiverse Requirements as of 2.0

You will no longer need the following:

5E Spells

I'm reducing the need for mods outside of Fantastical Multiverse. While it will still work well with 5E Spells if it's a spell I need that isn't in vanilla I'll create a version compatible with 5e Spells you'll just need to place 5E Spells below in load order if you prefer the 5E Spells version. A list of spells I ended up making will be provided in a future news update! :) Yuan-ti also won't require Forspoken anymore since the spell will just be placed in the file but like 5E Spells I'll still recommend having them installed.

Fantastical Compendium [2.0] (Individual Files Only)

It is looking like it might be easily possible with the Official Modding Tool (Still Needs to be tested) but I should be able to essentially duplicate Fantastical Multiverse and then purge everything not needed for that individual file, without the need to really worry about passive overlap or the risk of forgetting to update something that needs to be fixed. So if it's just a race mod like Fantastical Shadar-kai or Fantastical Lizardfolk it will have everything it needs for just that specific species no Fantastical Compendium required. These all likely will be slowly separated after the release of Fantastical Multiverse 2.0 though. On Nexusmods I'll still host all of these individual files on the main Fantastical Multiverse page.

What will require Fantastical Compendium then?

The Fantastical Collection packs. So Fantastical Faerun, Fantastical Etharis, etc. These will also be getting their own mod page on Nexusmods to make it easier to understand what is included in each pack. Fantastical Compendium will be kept so it's easier to manage the collections that way then having to reseperate the pack of collections each time. The mod called Fantastical Multiverse will not require this file since it will contain all the changes.

What about the One D&D (Player's Handbook 2024) overhauls?

Going forward all the One D&D overhauls will be hosted in a separate mod called "Anniversary Edition - Species" Now Fantastical Multiverse will only contain the standalone One D&D changes as this is what was voted on by the community. As you'll notice in the photos I've made new versions of each species that is in the Player's Handbook 2024. So now they won't overhaul any vanilla races and will only really be available to the player unless you've installed Anniversary Edition - Species.

Any new cosmetics?

New beards I found that are compatible with all Body Types, and new hairs. Some Goblin ones that are unique for Goblins are actually already compatible with every body type so all races in Fantastical Multiverse will have access to them.

More Variant Human Feats are coming!

Variant Human is getting feats that y'all voted on and a couple more not found in vanilla BG3 but it won't conflict or overwrite anything used by Feats Extra I'm likely going to avoid making patches since currently the way Variant Human gets feats doesn't prevent you from selecting the Feat options in the regular Feats selector anyways. So with this being the case it doesn't really stop you from reselecting a feat you'll already have.

Gwŷddpāla Rework?

It's coming in 2.0. It's going to give you more freedom to inherit traits from the Alacritātis sacred tree that has given you life once more. If I can get it to work 100% like I want you'll be able to replace your boons every time you level up. This way you'll be able to better serve and protect Malipāla from the Mind Flayer threats.

Can hobgoblins wear normal armor?

YES! They'll be fully compatible!

What are all the Elven races this mod will have?

There'll be alot of Elves to choose from during 2.0 the following is the whole list:

What is a Ifrit?

It's a homebrew species that is compatible with a Fire Genasi. I wanted to design a race that embodies a plane of Fire much better than just some spells that anyone could gain access to. I still love Fire Genasi's though just wish they had a bit more flavor to them. This is my approach to that desire. They'll have a normal skin version and a metallic one.

What will Lythari be like?

It will be standalone, and it will be the only other Elven race I make that can have beards. Grugach is the other. This is because I wanted to further illustrate their pure Lupane connection as typically Lycanthrope races are more hairy in nature and since Elves typically don't have beards I felt this was a great additional flavor to add to the species.

Hexbloods will have horns more like Hags!

Alot of the goblin hairs will help with this but in addition I was able to find compatible horns that fit the Hexblood-like aesthetic. Also trying to see if it will be possible to make the Dryad crown work as well but so far it might be only available for Female Hexbloods using the Body Type 1. Will see if I can get it ready for all body types or if I'll need to add that in a future update of 2.0.

Comments

Basicely there are wereWolf ??

Leshyné8

Kinda like succubus with a twist.

Konrad

They won't have armor. They're meant to be more naked and free when not in a shapechanger form. I'm going to try to get them to work can't make promises since the way their feet are will likely not make them problematic so it will be more advised to shape. I'll be adding custom humanoid forms that look better than the vanilla alter self or disguise self forms. The whole lore for them is meant to make them have pretty forms to disguise as to bait their prey.

Dungeons N Souls

You're planning to adapt clothing to Lycan form? Also, How such a race would perform in cutscenes?

Konrad

Oh yeah

Konrad

A Homebrew race that's natural form is a Lupine Hybrid. They can take the shape of a humanoid creature to blend in and hunt down their prey. They typically live in Hermit Balverine packs. They are perfect Dark Urges.

Dungeons N Souls

WTF is Balverine?

Konrad

If you mean in Alpha, Goblin will be separately. If you mean with 2.0's release I'm releasing a large single file like I did with 1.0 first and then updating everything else after. Should be alot faster than how I was doing waves thanks to the tool making alot of tedious work no longer really an issue. Hobgoblin won't be here till Patch 7 is released & the official modding tool is released to the public.

Dungeons N Souls

Awesome job as usual! I’m curious if Hobgoblins and Goblins will be released together or separately? Either way is okay. Again great work. :)
