Yesterday's Movie: I, Daniel Blake

Comments

I loved this movie, it really put a face on austerity in a way some people need to see. +1 to sorry to bother you rec

Heath Gardner

Amazing episode, and I hope you guys keep doing this. I, Daniel Blake is one of the best films Ive ever watched and Im glad to hear you guys appreciated it and found it as powerful as I did. What is truly impressive is that Ken Loach’s films actually affected the UK government’s legislation. One film that directly affected how government housing in the UK operates was his film Cathy Come Home, which is also an amazing class solidarity film. Its an older one but I *highly* recommend. Also, you already plan to watch it but Sorry to Bother You is, in my opinion, the most important and relevant film of our time, especially given whats happening with Amazon. I also recommend Harlan County, USA (its a doc, but damn good and artfully done). Definitely watch Battle of Algiers, as you noted.
