The lyric is often misheard, maybe due to the word being so quick and my own pronunciation idiosyncrasies, but it's actually *down* pounding my head. Although I like the lyric both ways! Maybe that misheard lyric contributes to the whole "you can really tell he's doing better on this album" thing that has me pulling my hair and teeth out by the fistful due to the actual origins of the album.
