Important news for all the backers!
Added 2017-09-09 17:51:06 +0000 UTCOkay, guys, this aint gonna be pretty to read through, but better I inform you than just silently change anything as important as tiers.
I was considering a price change before, I was hoping to tune the tiers as I look around for other similar content providers (like Funk, maybe I'm hopping too high here but I guess we have similar levels? more or less), and I realised that my content isnt even covering it's actual cost.
I honestly thought of Patreon not as a side income but a main source. Well, eventually, ofc, but in current state of things I dont think that's possible at all. I guess I overestimated the popularity and likeability of my art? I'm bad at business stuff, I just draw things.
So, I still want to do it a win-win way, lead paywalling to a minimum (it all leaks eventually anyway and I dont believe in early access too much).
And I consider making new tiers as well as changing pricings for two existing at the moment.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
My thoughts at the moment:
- Currently I'm doing my best to deliver 4 picture votes per month, which would bring me $200 (that's the smallest) in commissions AND work on actual commissions in the meantime. Not cool, right? Have to pay my bills, have to eat too;
- I'm thinking of raising basic supporter tier/making another, higher tier Like $2, it's not as much for you but it's twice the money for me. Many a little makes a mickle and all that stuff. Fair?
- I'm thinking of adding a raffle to one of the smaller tiers, just the same quality picture as usual current weekly, raffled between ALL of the Patrons;
- Making a higher ($15-20?) tier eligible for a quick on-stream sketch, limited amount, once a month or something;
- Slightly raising a suggestion tier price (to$7-10), but that's unsure, tho it's a decent way to reduce voting options amount, meaning this tier's pledge will actually be more worth it's money.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Your opinion is vital on this one, so please don't just pass by! For those who isn't cool with the new terms I offer, I suggest to cancel your pledge before I actually changed things!
Cheers, the Captain.

I would suggest as such: Have a teir 10 or 15 be the ones to suggest what to draw; have the 5 dollar ones be the ones able to vote on it; have the 1 dollar ones have early access to all pics before a public release. Moving the drawings to biweekly or twice monthly would make sense. You could also add in like a 20+ level (with limited slots) that you could treat like commissions that get a drawing a month, with the higher the level, the more detail/characters they get like normal commissions.

2017-09-10 14:03:26 +0000 UTCDont do weekly, make it every 2 or maybe only 1 per month. I think all the people who already pledged did it cause they like your art. Then you have more time for commissions. Also post the commissions here if it is fine with the buyer and add a public delay to everything you draw (like 5-10 days) and we feel special :p Thats how alot others work. I wouldnt change the tiers alot in the current state.

2017-09-09 20:44:16 +0000 UTCI am fine with vote-suggestions tier going higher, think I will be ok to pay up to 10 for this. Not sure (just personally) about sticking to the higher tiers if the only difference (or the major difference) would be a sketch on stream, though, but that's because I am not into streams much. As for the overall thing of getting more tiers with higher payments, this was predictable (not a bad thing) as you started patreon as an experiment to see whether people would like it here. Fair enough that you get other/higher tiers, many artists do. And for me it feels that you deliver more and better than some others in whom I may be interested.
