Well, she already mentioned to the punching bag that they forgot her birthday ... twice.

I'm sure it'll get along great with Mr. Extremely Large Stuffed Bear!

I wonder what the event was where she realized her parents didn't love her. (She mentioned it at the wedding.) I have a bad feeling about the next few comics. :ohdear:

My mother had the problem that the veterinarian wouldn't admit a cat named "Cat", although that was the reality. So the cat is technically named "Marmalade", though that only appears in the vet's records.

Me and my own Bear (because what else do you name a bear?) have een together for 30 years now. He keeps me from t-rexing my arms/wrists and provides excellent shoulder support.

Were the parents even involved? Or was it just people who reported to people who reported to people who reported to one of her parent's assistants' assistants' assistant's assistant?

I know multiple adult humans operating within normal tolerances who named real live cats “Kitty,” to say nothing of my own kids who have highly active imaginations but have nevertheless named an entire series of stuffed animals names such as Tiggy (tiger), Orcy (orca), Ottery (otter), and Snakey (snake).
The evidence of Ahn’s trauma isn’t the utilitarian name she gives her bear. It’s that she was perplexed by the idea of naming it at all. 💔

My teddy bear growing up was named "Teddy".
My current bear (who is over 40 now) is named "Arthur". And that name is based on the Celtic word for "bear".
Also, Bubbles is so wonderful.

Ah. She knew “stuff” was missing. Am not happy that her parents were unable to break the cycle of ‘zero empathy’ for ‘high status’ child units.
Found family matters.
Welcome to “Bear.”
