Seismometers can detect vibrations that are less than what humans can detect. Thus, if your next door neighbor is playing music with base so loud you can feel it, a Seismometer can detect it - and will probably register it as somewhere between a 2.0 and 2.9. When I lived in an apartment with thin walls, I would occasionally feel the vibrations from my neighbors who shared my bedroom wall. So Richter scale > 1.9. As such, yeah, seismometers. Edit: Just to be clear, I'm not saying that they'd be detected by the seismometer down at the local university, a few miles away. But Yay's verbiage sounded to me like they had a seismometer locally. Assuming they make their bodies custom, I see no reason why they wouldn't have one installed in each body. They're not complicated and can be quite small if they're digital. The most awkward part about having a seismometer in each body is then they know exactly how rough each of their steps are. But that's also an opportunity, as it can be quite helpful to know if they're trying to be sneaky. Not that Yaaaaaaaay would ever try to be sneaky. That would be so not in keeping with the Newfriend family's long and rigid ethical code. Newfriends either are sneeky or are not sneaky, there is no 'try' allowed.
