One of the advantages of having such a big cast, is that Jeph can pursue so many story lines. After we reach a point in the Elliot/Clinton arc, he can move the scene to the AI rights foundation, adding to Roko, and her struggle with dysphoria, the evolving relationship with Yay, and Melon's antics. From there, perhaps to CoD. Or Union Robotics, Or the apartment. He can fine tune his stories to tell the stories he wants to tell.

I think there was quite a lot of respectfulness in the Sven/May relationship. While the two of them may have been more focused crazy sexy times than other characters, they were also upfront and kind with each other. The current storyline is about Clinton and Elliot. If those are not the characters you're interested in, that's totally fine, but it's an ensemble cast; different characters will be in focus at different times - that's been a staple of the comic for years, and one of the things many people appreciate about it. Also, Jeph has been slowly building up to the Clinton/Elliot storyline for a long time, and a lot of people are finally getting the pay-off they've been waiting for; again, if that's not your cup of tea, that's totally fine, but please respect that it is for a lot of other people. Passive-aggressive "I'm leaving!" comments are never constructive.

Despite how hard most people are rooting for boy on boy action, thus far I felt like Clinton is more straight than bi, despite wanting to be into Elliot. But maybe I’m wrong about that and he is bi. While I was hoping for a smooch today, this awkward avoidance of eye-contact is so much more in-character that it feels right to wait. Also I love that they're prioritizing communication and checking in with each other as the first step. They've already used their Good Communication Skills to work through a hurdle that could have been a deal-breaker (that being Clinton's faux-pas at the bar). I'm looking forward to a healthy relationship full of respectful negotiation and thoughtfulness.
