She could just be referring to charging as sleeping. It could also have to do with her specific level of bodily-integration. AIs display many different degrees of "humanity" for lack of a better word, so it could also be that Roko feels more intouch with her physical body by replicating the requirements of organic beings?

Roko has had a suboptimal last couple of days. While May, her friend and client, got her new chassis, May seems to be having few, if any of the problems Roko had. Plus all her hard work was sidestepped by the crowd funder. She probably feels ...unnecessary. Add her latest disassociative episode. She reacted in the only way she could. I love her and feel for her.
