Beyond The Threshold

friends???

Beyond The Threshold

Comments

You know, Elliot has *absolutely* said "no" in his life. I'm pretty sure he's said "no" in comic. This reminds me of an exchange back when I was probably younger than Elliot's in comic age. Person asked for help with something. Me: No problem. Them: "Have you ever said `no` in your *life*?" I facepalmed.

Some Ed

Wait, really? I may have more experience with being flirted at than I realized.

Some Ed

Eagerly awaiting Elliot/Clinton adorably awkward date!!!!

"We had a twenty minute conversation about another guy and then they shook me down for cat visitation rights, that's not flirting!" "That's totally flirting."

Solomon Garland

Yay is non-binary and uses they/them pronouns

lazymagpie

I dub the ship ElBot

Chris Arnold

We've seen the lock on Roko's door at least once. It appears to be a simple deadbolt and knob. So I suspect that the keypad is on the wall outside the door, and entering the code disengages an electronic strike in the door jamb, so the door can open without physically "unlocking" it.

awgiedawgie

Reminds me of early Hannelore, "I promise not to surveille you from across the street." Yay will eventually learn that if they want to be friends, they shouldn't be creepy or brag about their awesome powers.

Beechwood Chip

You must remember that Hercules is MIGHTY! He IS the Mighty Furball! (Crap, that's gonna be the name for my Punk/Polka crossover band!)

Joseph Bonnar

Explains a lot... Yay is the one hacking all the IoT devices... not that hard really... and I'm guessing Elliot's password is 'ClintonLUV1'

Bryan Brake

How much Yay can Hercules handle? :D

Summer Sudbrink

i just got into locksport and now i'm wondering what kind of locks they have

Yay might have to recalibrate their estimation of Elliot. I know there was a panel where he's calmly facing down a guy threatening him with a broken bottle, though I can't find it right now.

Clifton Royston

Will Yay’s doggos be jealous of their newfound attraction to a feline?

Bruce Steinberg

Anyone want to take a guess at how bad things will go if Yay happens to be close by when some idiot takes a swing at Elliot?

I don’t think Yay would bring strange cats to Elliot’s home, or use their eldritch technical powers to insta-clone Hercules. But three Yay!s and their two puppers? That’s a definite possibility.

Nancie

Elliot comes home to find three Yays and four cats in his living room.

Stephen Wells

See, that's how you be spooky.

Chris Crowther

Point.

Andrew Mitchell

And Roko calls May a goblin.

OldGoat

Letting chaotic AI come and go to pet your cat is still WAY more responsible than just letting your cat come and go. πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

MrFrenchFries

Yay Twofriends?

Leak

I'm sure with Yay there are plenty of additional options that will leave no evidence behind.

Brooks Moses

A Locksmith once told me a lock is only a deterant.

No one with unlimited internet access is innocent

doorbender

I suppose it could be, but given Yay's breadth and depth of knowledge and abilities wrt electronic systems, my feeling is that they don't actually need to be told anyone's door code.

Dev

Either that or just creepy.

Andrew Mitchell

Watching LPL?

Carin Maja Brooks

As someone training to be a locksmith, honestly, locks are just suggestions. Some are stronger suggestions than others, but they're suggestions none the less

Carin Maja Brooks

Whaaaaat, they asked!

Bagge

So, basically, 3700 (https://questionablecontent.net/view.php?comic=3700), but with Ellion doing the anime Naked Apron thing? (Jeph, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE draw that, if for Patreons only!)

Elf Sternberg

Hercules would be a terrible villain cat. A good villain cat needs to recline in a stately manner while regarding the hero with arrogant disdain. The effect is entirely ruined if the cat proceeds to flop onto its back and meow loudly when belly rubs aren't forthcoming.

Andrew L Butula

Pretty sure this is a reference to 3717 (https://questionablecontent.net/view.php?comic=3717) in that everyone knows Elliot's door code. He's just a cinnamon roll that way.

Elf Sternberg

β€œYay, you can’t just barge in, even if Elliot gave you his permission!” Then Roko stood there as she saw Elliot pouring flour into a mixing bowl. β€œHot crossed buns!” Roko drooled.

Miyaa

Or to Brun and Millie.

Hugh Eckert

Boundaries. Yay!

"A lock is only there to keep an honest person honest"

dizzy ditzy

[2am: lights on, scuffling sounds from lounge room] Elliot, abed: *Wha ... What's going on?* Yay, from the lounge: We have taken the liberty of installing this enhanced Hercules residence! It will also allow our other cat friends to visit. This is acceptable, yes?

Simon Green

Yay wanting to come over manages to be _at least_ as creepy as Yay actively trying to be creepy.

Yonatan Zunger

with Clinton...

allanfranta

Whenever I hear that quote, I attribute it to Lee Harvey Oswald. It makes people think twice.

Matt Grayson

Ernst Stavro Blofeld had a white cat and he was plenty scary. Maybe Yay needs a monocle to complete the look.

Andrew

I'd be cool with their visiting the cat when I'm not home, but probably not when I'm home and sleeping.

Am Queue

Jesus.... has Elliot EVER said "no" in his life?? He is SUCH a cinnamon roll!! XD XD

Shawn K. Younkin

dont push it

Tamara Macadam

yay, you were doing a great job, but you got creepy there at the end.

Ashley Thomas

β€œA lock that simple might as well be open” - Sam Starfall

Thisguy

Elliot needs to learn that boundaries are ok.

Rachel Maeroff

"Anytime." It didn’t even occur to him Yay might take it literally. Poor guy.

Erin Hartshorn

Oh Elliot... you are too kind. It's awesome, but also be very careful. XD And Yay, my goodness!

Katrina Urmson

Elliot: the softest boi.

Adam with two As, a D, and an M

Now Yay has to touch base with Clinton, and encourage him to be open to Eliot. After Clinton recovers from meeting an AI like yay, he'll ask: "Did my sister put you up to this?"

Michael Boettger

I'm guessing Yay's dogs might not be good cat companions so scrounging cat-time from the neighbors is a priority.

Douglas E. Smith

Door code? Hahaha! Yay has *all* your codes!

drone r0m-3

Spookybot is still spooky, we even when not trying to be. XD

Lex

Smooth Yay, very smooth

MikeT

Remember: It's not home invasion if they just want to pet your cat. Let them in.

Mortimer Langford

Can't wait for the first time Clinton spends the night, and Yay wants an impromptu visit.

Isaac Rivers

Sometimes it's easier to ask forgiveness than permission. Sometimes niether!

Spoogle McGee

I love the look on Yay’s face when he offers to shake hands with them. It’s kind of, β€œI have heard of this ritual”

M Cohen

Oh Yay, you were doing so awesomely :D

Chris Sims

As long as Yay uses the door properly and doesn't do a Melon deal of just blowing/melting a hole through the ceiling.

Yay. Now, let’s get back to May.

Andrea Andrew

Awwww!

Matt Grayson

K maybe he found that intimidating

doorbender

Coming over when I am asleep is kinda creepy

Michael

My attraction to Yay grows with every passing comic showcasing Their innocent omnipotence

Jareth Fullbringer

Look at it this way Elliot, free pet/house sitter

Boundaries, Yay.

Jaron Mortimer
