As a polyamorist I often get a little eye-rolly at any form of media promoting the "You're the only one for me" dogma, but Jeph has habitually incorporated enough diversity that he's earned it. People should know Kate Bush better. Didn't a cover of "Running Up That Hill" by Meg Myers get a lot of airplay recently? Nobody does a beautifully creepy song like Kate Bush (see, for example, "Breathing")

My guess would be Bubbles caring about her appearance is a side-effect of being loved and loving in return. But the Green-eyed Monster (jealousy, via Shakespeare), also enters by the same door. I have some aging married friends, each of whom was very attractive in their youth, even to the point of vanity and perhaps narcissism. They've mellowed together with time, and now they point out hot bodies for/to each other, as if to say "We're together on our side of the youth wall".
