If I was the person counseling her, I'd be making sure that May had a good body that had a GREAT upkeep plan, good rep on general usage and light-to-mid-tier physical labor, and had all the right number of human-compatible holes. That work in a human-compatible way. I think it's not so much that as she knows there are AIs out there who've done nothing so as serious as she tried, and they're still in May's position. It's difficult, sometimes, to realize you've paid for what you've done, especially in Western society, presumably there, too. That culture (perhaps others, too, but that's the one I know) tends to ladle out guilt by the bucketload, and one of the basics parts of that is you *deserve* whatever hell you're going through. Anyway, I wonder if that MX has changeable boob and butt size on it? Marigold needs some competition.

She's been trying to suggest someone else might be more deserving every time she talks about it. It isn't *just* a lack of self-esteem... it's also a selfless assumption that someone else might need it more, and deserve it more, so more good could be done elsewhere - which means she's earnestly wanting to do the most good. How was it not painfully obvious to me that Beeps would have tear ducts... Or.. is the anime sort of tears actually something like Roko's color changing abilities, and they're just wavy white lines on her face and there are no tears at all? Also, that smile of May's.... weary and hopeful... followed immediately by her and Roko just.. over it. XD I love this comic.

I feel like this is the beginning of a beautiful character change for May. Hopefully still retaining all of her sass but I feel like this is going in the direction of her wanting to help others like she's been helped. Possibly working with Roko?

When Roko talked to the guy at the agency, he said that May was an odd case. Some, he said, just stay in a server rack, and some slip back to their old chassis. He seemed to imply that May's offense occurred whilst being disembodied, and she requested a chassis upon release.
