So this storyline (and in general) has me wondering what AIs need in order to sustain life. May has a job and lives with Momo, Marigold, and Dale ... I assume she shares in the rent and electric bill but split 4 ways that shouldn't be too bad. There would be taxes (of course) but beyond that and possibly internet I can't think of what they absolutely require. Is May still paying off her initial body? We know from various comics that those are expensive. Are all the AIs we see with jobs actually basically indentured servants working off their equivalent of student loans? Are there exploitative AI taxes that eat just about everything they can earn leaving only just enough for small closet and a trickle of electricity unless the find a human sponsor? Am I really thinking way too much about a silly comic with robots?

1. May's purely adorable, so less of the "goblin" stuff, bucko! and 2. I forgot what #2 was going to be.

Sven is an in-demand songwriter who gets paid like a boss, and Hanners is super loaded. There's probably enough in that fund to buy her a Philomena Model G with a custom F-16 fighter jet back tattoo and human standard genitals.

I had a hope for what May's reaction might be, but THIS is more suited to her personality! ^_^

One time I hired a monkey to take notes for me in class. I would just sit there, my mind a complete blank, while the monkey scribbled on little pieces of paper. At the end of the class the teacher said "class, I want you to write a paper using your notes." So I handed in a paper that said "hello my name is Bingo, I like to climb on things, can I have a banana? Eek! Eek!" I got an F. When I told my mom about it she said "I told you never to trust a monkey!" The end.
