Maybe Jim was never a crafty kid. Never made models, or anything like that. Hand-held power tools are to the left of witchcraft to him. Or maybe he's just overprotective. Which will be fun when Sam starts to date.

Good job with the Adulting, Faye. You'll get there yet. And yes, it sucks, but it's necessary at times. But do make her finish Beeps first. Sam needs to start on Adulting, too. 'Tis one of the points of her internship and why her dad is letting her work there in spite of risk to life and fingernail.

I'd like to see Sam walking past Jim and Veronica at the kitchen table. With a bag full of money and both making a worried remark.

I don't think Sam has one true passion right now. I think she's very young and very excited to explore all the possibilities that life offers her. It could be a decade or more before she's decided to pursue any one career path. Or she might never. She might end up being one of those hustling freelancers who's always got her hands in a lot of pies.
