That way they can make sure that Sam isn't tempted to gain unauthorized access to the shop. (What would have happened someone saw Sam going through the window and called the cops?) Also that would give them more site traffic and put their services out to a broader clientele, especially if they want to get more into chassis modifications.

A child doing crude scrawlings in sharpie is great model for a teenager who wants a bit of extra spending money but it's unlikely to pay Faye's rent anytime soon.
