The only problems I have with believing that claim was they had pretty solid advice even about things with which they had no experience, and them having given good advice on a subject that they had previously fucked up royally many times was no indicator that they would not fuck up regarding that subject again. A better indicator seemed to be if they made a mistake twice, they'd keep making it.
