It's subtle, but it is different. It's like I said yesterday (well, under the previous strip anyway), it's similar enough that many people don't notice the differences, especially over time, as their memory of the old face fades. But Roko sees every little detail. My nose is different. My chin is different. My eyes are uneven. But nobody but me and my own mother notices. I didn't have any trouble accepting the face in the mirror, but I am blessed with that ability. Roko - clearly - is not.

They CAN but it's optional equipment. May was annoyed that her chassis doesn't have any Roko might still be embarrassed even if she doesn't have naughty bits though. Like how it can still be embarrassing to be caught without pants even if you have underwear on

You know, her face probably could be rescupted to match her old face, by a skilled enough hand. A vegetable peeler and a mirror isn't the way to do it, but there are probably possibilities that exist for somebody like her that would be more difficult for a human.
