Dora Snake

Melon Gear?!

Wow. Amazon has 100 tea bags of DBEG for $16. No way I'll go through that in a week!

BobC

Stash has a Double Bergamot Earl Grey with a heavy, musty citrus I adore. So much so that a box rarely lasts a week. So I rarely get it. Sigh.

BobC

Try Smokey Earl Gray, that is nice stuff :) I get mine from Fortnum and Masons though.

Kevin Symonds

I just discovered the Lapsang at the Twining's shop in Epcot. My daughter has quickly grown addicted to it, but it does need a little sweetness to soften it. Also discovered was Earl Grey extra bold, which is fantastic- I do both sugar and honey in my tea, and it's a glorious start to the morning. The shop is a little more expensive than at the grocery store, but the flavor selection is definitely different.

Michele Williams

I should not have clicked on that link.

Bigelow's Constant Comment is the first tea I was introduced to that wasn't generic Lipton's. I learned about Earl Grey long before ST:TNG happened, and greatly prefer Twining's blend to Bigelow's - those being the two most common I can easily access. Lapsang Souchong is one of my favorites, learned about from the book "Tea with the Black Dragon", but I don't have the touch to brew it the same as the shop where I first actually found it in RL. Then again, since then I've stopped eating sugar of any sort, and I think it really needs some to mellow it. Twinings Lapsang Souchong is the most tolerable in teabags. Bigelow's Cinnamon Stick is delightfully full of mellow cinnamon flavor. I've started trying to get into more interesting/different/complex teas since buying a blending pot with an infuser, but I still end up with going for teabag types for ease of cleaning. Oh! I used to make Twinings Irish Breakfast and Bigelow's Cinnamon Stick together in the same pot - they go really well together. I haven't done that in a while, I should again!

I like Keemun, but my real favorites among China teas are some of the Fujian varieties. Golden Monkey is excellent. Emperor's Red was even better, but doesn't seem to be available any longer.

There is a purple tea: https://www.thewhistlingkettle.com/products/purple-tea-whole-leaf-royal-grade (I've tried it; it's pleasant, but not particularly distinctive.)

I had never heard of Keemun before, thanks for the info!

Brian

More pics of Melon in pink shorts.... :)

Shawn K. Younkin

Did I just implicitly compare tea to my ex-girlfriends?

BobC

For me, Earl Grey is a tea that comes to me, to be with me no matter what else I'm doing. To fit in with whatever is going on in my life. My other teas call me to them, forcing me to pay attention to nothing else until my mug is empty. Quite rude and interrupting, but occasionally well worth it.

BobC

Earl Grey is my "go to" tea, like a dear friend I can visit whenever I want. I have other teas that are like a party for my senses: Great fun, but not what I'd want every day. There's a rooibos that's tempting me at the moment...

BobC

I primarily drink Earl Grey as well. I have picked up some other blends for my mother and my brother, but I am a creature of habit, so I prefer to stick with what I know.

awgiedawgie

I prefer Keemun myself. But I'm not a purple robot lady with sensory integration issues. Though these days I mostly drink this blend: https://www.harney.com/products/brigitte-s-blend?variant=29581549958 ... Speaking of which, it's Time for Tea! https://www.pandora.com/artist/11-acorn-lane/time-for-tea/time-for-tea/TRZwl5p3w7nx2V6

Jeffrey Nonken

Since oolong is black dragon, which is a very sophisticated dragon, OBVIOUSLY it would be perfect for Roko - amiright? :D

Kerin Schiesser

Wow, we sure do have some tea connoisseurs here! If you look at my tea collection, you'll see it is dominated by Earl Grey. I changed my Alexa wakeword to "Computer", and when I say "Computer. Tea, Earl Grey, hot", it responds with "The replicators on this vessel are not yet operational". After which I go make it for myself. You'd think it would get old after a while, right? But no. It doesn't.

BobC

We have a winner.

Maurice Kessler

I suspect the strip title is a play on “Oolong,” as in, “ooh, long [snake].” But that’s all I got.

Natalie Wagner

Dora kinda looks like Quiet from MGSV, hence the Metal Gear jokes.

Everett Bradshaw

my thoughts exactly.

Marc Tabor

She IS the Teasach Haderach!

Gary Walker

Dora thinks "Am I crazy or is everyone else?" then remembers who she's been talking to. Also, I don't get the strip title. Can someone enlighten me please?

Mark

Assam is for an entirely different effect*, and could Roko take the enhanced strength of it? *as you well know :-P

Mark

Ahh hell I am just going to say it Melon has a cute butt.

Penguin

no crop-top for celebrating the new mono-navel? I'm disapointed.

Sarah Buisson

Whatever happened to socially acceptable greetings?

Erin Hartshorn

I'm guessing we're meant to read Dora's "...oolong?" like Snake saying "hhnnng... Metal Gear?".

Diptych

Green tea and a purple AI? Are you some kind of Joker?

Bill O'Connor

Maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaybe. I would have gone with a Darjeeling/Green blend.

lilibat

But... is it socially appropriate?

Cleo Schmitz

Hair continues growing throughout the wearer's life.

Dean Reilly

Well of course Oolong sounds ridiculous until you remember that Melon specifically mentioned she was buying it for someone who was purple.

Populuxe

"Hello human lady" I like that :)

Kevin Symonds

I don't remember Dora's hair being this long. Am i crazy?

Dylan T

So um, Jeph totally made Dora cuter. Unf.

Andrew

SO CLOSE to my two favs interacting. How will they ever get married at this rate?

Fart Captor

Roko has enough going on right now that boosting her synesthesia could be just too much. She needs help with mind-body integration, not cross-sensorium blending. There's something about smoky pine needles... not to be too on-the-nose about it, but the stickiness of pine resin might be what she needs to glue herself more firmly to her self.

Jason Zions

Harney & Sons has a Black Currant blend that comes in a tin that is pretty close to the colour of her skin. Their Paris blend has a similarly coloured light purple package if you purchase a box of tea bags, but if you get the sachets, the tin is white.

Philip D Jones

I'm confused, why the Metal Gear jokes?

Chris Hewson

I love Doras continued attempt to make sense of an increasingly ridiculous situation. Soon she will just delegate these things to Emily from start

Bagge

odd because their eye shapes are very much different as is their skin tone, posture, and jaw line structure. while yes bot are ladies with similar hair length and color almost nothing else is the same.

BigKumaDM

Oh, this is why: https://www.questionablecontent.net/view.php?comic=3575

Hm. I would have gone with a golden assam (caramel... mmmm)... but that's because it makes me think of yummy baked goods, when brewed with a bit of rock sugar and cream is added. This is going to be interesting.

Katrina Urmson

I would have gone with Darjeeling, but that's mostly because both Twinings and Bigelo use the same purple for Darjeeling's packaging as Roko's skin.

Buck Caldwell

eMily!

BobC

Let's just hope it stays attached this time.

Buck Caldwell

Not really purple - more like mauve.

Chris Heg

Melon is an awesome character!

Chong Go

I miss old Dora. I'm having a hard time telling her apart from Emily.

Chong Go

I wonder... does Melon actually know anyone's names, other than Arthur and Roko (not counting her and Lemon's other sisters)?

awgiedawgie

She probably still has that goth aversion to the sun. Keeps one young

Hedgie

Awwww Melon is a good friend

Brian

Melon's such an adorable little sweetheart.

awgiedawgie

And it'll end up being exactly the right thing.

R L

Is it just me or does Dora look about 10 years younger?

Assam, I would think.

phwoar melon's rockin a nice tush!

Emily's right.... Always go with your instincts, Dore.

Churchill (formerly TeaBear)

Dora's hair is so long

JD

oh no... Emily and melon in the same place. Never change Emily

The Shadow's Lair

Quiet!
