Even assuming both that Momo's hair is both stiffer and more brittle than human hair and that Bubbles's combat knife is sharper than anything existing, cutting a neat line of bangs with a single backhand slash would require a terrifying level of speed and precision. It's not just cutting hanging hair, and it's not just cutting hair hanging in front of a flat surface without touching the surface. It is cutting hair hanging down in front of a curved surface that curves first out, then back. The knife would have to be withdrawn smoothly and then re-extended to follow the curve of the forehead, all without losing speed. No human could do anything remotely approximating that, even with a sword. I realize that Jeph is just going for a gag, but, damn, if this is at all canonical, I don't think I ever want to see Bubbles in combat mode after all. Not only it wouldn't be fair, it wouldn't be dramatic. She would just go over and take the gun away before they saw her start to move.
