Just because Melon is okay the way she is doesn't mean that the authorities are okay with the way she is. AIs who don't fit into 'neurormative' may be obliged to attend some sort of therapy, hence the presence of the depressed, the marginal and the disaffected.

Yes, she's learned that she's unimaginably envious of Melon's effortless joy in life and her seemingly-unbreakable innocence. The question is, what will this breakthrough mean for her? Just to go on the record, I want a 'The Good, The Bad and The Profoundly Weird' friendship between Momo, May and Melon.

I'm pretty sure it's going to turn out that they have the same base class of chassis although Melon, not being an ex-felon, has a better-maintained one and may have a few optional mods that May doesn't. Maybe that's why May seemingly doesn't like her?

I think that she's going to flip out at Melon who, of course, will not get it. As with Winslow, she'll feel guilty after talking about it to Momo and will try to find some way to apologise without damaging her own pride. The resulting 'Ballad of May and Melon' will probably be a significant character development arc.

Here's a prediction: Anthony is going to end up as Melon's pet and she's not going to go anywhere without it. This is going to require that she do the near-impossible and learn to house-train a feral pigeon. Meanwhile, I'm starting to worry about May. Based on her expression in panel 4, she's about to flip out at poor, inoffensive Melon!

I assume you are referring to the plural of “Jones,” which is “Joneses.” As in “keeping up with the ...” The possessive is a problem. Is it “Jones’” or “Jones’s” I think that will never be settled. BTW we are quite elderly and not that hard to keep up with.
