Well said. I've been thinking in similar terms. Their shapes complement each other. There's something so damned poetical to me about two people who, not through deserving but purely by serendipity, are put in each other's paths, and who have the mindfulness and grace to take the chance they've been given. It's such a well-crafted story.

Things I Love About This Strip #2: "I have always been... different in some way. An AI, a soldier, and outcast. If being with a human woman makes me different in a *new* way, what does it matter? I do not care." We've seen Bubbles display a range of emotional expression. But this is the first time I've ever thought "That sounded a little emo." Bubbles is opening up in ways she never would have before. Before, she would have been afraid of people laughing at her for sounding emo. But she knows she's safe with Faye. This feeling of safety becomes poetical when you consider Bubbles's history. She has never been afraid of physical danger. She's long feared people *around* her being hurt. She's afraid of expressing those emotions that she, as Faye put it, feels at a 10, because she's afraid people will laugh at her. Now she's not afraid. Because *she has Faye to protect her*. The warrior poet who so fiercely fills a war machine to overflowing with her soul. She feels safe because her lady is there to protect her from the laughter and contempt. *smiling and tearing up again*.

Good question about Winslow. I'm guessing she did since he has a life of his own now working as an AI counselor. As for the big reveal at CoD, that is what I'm most looking forward to myself. My scenario has them walking in, Bubbles sits in her chair, Faye pulls out a black marker and writes "and Faye's" between "Bubbles" and "chair", then sits in Bubbles' lap and everyone cheers.

I can think of SO MANY things they could do together, that both of them would enjoy, based on what we've seen of their relationship so far. I don't want to be crass, though, so I'll keep my ideas to myself. ;) To put things in perspective... I've been in lots of relationships where climax was reached through unconventional means. Bubbles has 'always been... different in some way'. Calling it now: Either Dr Ellicott-Chatham or Spookybot interfered in the compiling process of certain AIs to ensure that they developed closer relationships with humans than their own kind. Bubbles, Momo, May and Roko are all from that modified batch of AIs. This may have been a commercial decision - to create AIs who would function better as companions and helpers for humans - or sociological - to create an AI who will integrate with humans and become a part of humanity.

They addressed that later - Hannelore said that she was on a much stronger meds back then. And art is constantly evolving here, which only adds to the pleasure of reading it from the beginning. Nice metaphor for the life itself, as I had similar feelings when recently found my own photos from when I was 16.

It's been said many times before, but I am in awe of how great do they complement each other. Like if all trauma and psychological scars created a jagged edges on both of their psyches, and now these edges click like parts of a perfect puzzle. It is not something to aspire to, but sometimes deep trauma can lead to understanding and love on the levels unavailable before.

Well, Jeph, I thought that they'd just been playing patty-cake in the nude :-P Seriously, though, it's kind of sad that no-one has ever been close enough to Bubbles that she's ever felt the need to worry about how others will react to her before. Additionally, I appreciate the last panel - An obvious joke is not required when everyone, both in-universe and amongst the readers, is rolling their eyes and mouthing the punchline before it anyone actually says it on-panel!

LOL I always used to joke about how when I went on interviews that they'd make some excuse to not hire me during the interview using some stupid excuse about qualifications that had nothing to do with the job (such as a bachelors or masters degree in computer science when all you're doing is unjamming paper jams and showing them which one is the keyboard and which is the mouse), and the example I'd always use is knitting. "You sound great but we really need someone who knows knitting" "Um, this is a destktop support / LAN admin job, why do you need someone to know how to make sweaters?" "I'm sorry but it clearly says in the description 'Must know Active Directory, Word 2016, knitting, and SQL Server.' We'll keep your resume on file if something comes up"

Truth be told, I've never actually been fully on board with this pairing (Angus was one of my favourites and I kept hoping he'd return), but seeing Bubbles manage to reasonably converse with Faye and help her avoid freaking out about the entire situation puts me at ease; calming down Faye is a mammoth task to accomplish. So yeah, I think I'm on board now. That entire dialogue was so sweet.
