Tilly Has No Chill

Comments

Hey check it out, it's Bleminda.

Daryl Sawyer

There's no psycho-killer /that we know of/... but there's Pintsize.

Brian

I'm not sure how you remembered that! Nice eye... Maybe all the commenters here are Jeph talking with himself....

Has anyone else noticed how much Tilly looks like the DadBod AntroPC model from when Winslow was shopping for his new body?

The presence of Tilly has revealed a huge gap in the pantheon of QC characters: There's no psycho-killer character in the QC-verse! I think it may be time for a cross-comic visit by Bun Bun. One frame is all he'll need.

BobC

Note to Jeff... If you're going to write in a character we're supposed to hate, do NOT make her so gosh darned CUTE. :P

For the record, I had a personal assistant who would, at varying times: -be found under one of my employee's desks playing with his assistance animal, sitting in the window talking to the crows raising a nest there, going nearly catatonic trying to pick out the kind of cookies to have ready for conferences, sending phishing emails to people because the subject said "must read" and she was worried they wouldn't read it... she had a heart of gold and she was the kindest, sweetest, nicest lady I ever met. However she was a trying employee :)

Freya Thurell

No, seriously, this is abuse 101 -- destroying Hannalore's ability to make an independent living. Dora, call the cops.

KCkittysnores

Taffable, absolutely Taffable.

William Burns

Taffy just stopped growing on me.

Tilly has been raised from the age of 4 in a simulated environment in which fawning adoration was rewarded by a facsimile of Hannelore and all displays of pride, stubbornness, personal emotions, self-value or reluctance were severely punished by a Faceless Horror.
She now worships Hanners, for Hanners' is the hand that rocks the cradle. She is, deep inside, terrified. It's been her condition for so much of the time for so much of her life that it no longer shows. All that shows is how happy she is that Hanners is the entity currently around her and that, for now, she has not failed.
She has yet to learn that other people get to have a thing called childhood.
4 months. From the age of 4 months.

Jumpy James Johnson Junior

I suspect Tilly idolizes Hanners and/or her family in some way. Look at her in panel #2, that's not someone wanting to help, that's someone adoring their idol. And maybe that's the arc...Hanners completely devalues her, to the point of not even bothering to remember her name correctly, Tilly gets devastated and leaves, Hanners develops new neuroses. I am curious how Tilly got this job - is she or her parents family friends? Maybe Hanners' father did something for Tilly's family and she now feels obligated? I dunno, probably just answered an ad in Craigslist. :D

Richard

Okay, so Tufty being an ill-behaved toddler is in fact a thing. QC being what it is, I'm hoping for her to learn to do better, because this is pretty messed up behavior for an adult. Would Hanner's mom think something like "My daughter is neuroatypical, I'll send her the newbie with Immature Personality Disorder [probably not in those words]"?

R. Francis Smith

Good, good! Use your aggressive feelings, Hannelore! Let the hate flow through you!

Sajuuk-Khar

Tilly has no Chilly

Max S

I really want this arc to end with Tilly going off and becoming a great personal assistant to _somebody who wants one_. Her insistence of sticking her nose in where it's unwanted is creeping me the fuck out.

Auros Harman

No no no no no. If Tilly is permitted to stay, panel 2 is Hanners' new default mood.

Maurice Kessler

Aw yeah Hannelore, learn to boss!

The first day on a job generally features high energy, as it's an environment with a steep learning curve.

Holly Nelson

Presumably she has to succeed in this job or be executed.

Tilly seems to be really bad at doing as she's told, which makes me wonder why she's so dedicated to being Hanners' PA. What hold does Hanners' mom have over her?

Jessi Lloyd

Like that Freya, I like Tilly and I think Tilly might help in the development of Hannelore. She is good for laughs right now but she could be a good character in the long run also. It would be interesting to see Tilly trying to work with Hannelores many mental issues LOL

I agree, but for different reasons. Hanners' demeanour is quite out of character, because she was basically forced to have a PA by her mother. Although Hanners tried to stand up to her mother for her own sake (which sadly Hanners lost, unsurprisingly), she is nevertheless "sucking it up". Hanners is a nice person, overall. Quirky, and her meds tend to make her... "erratic". But above all else she has her routine. To people with mental health problems, routine is important. There are ways things have to be done, and Tilly is (albeit unintentionally) screwing that up. I don't know if this will end in a "Dale and May" scenario, but there is a hell of a lot of work to do (and in this case, not to do) to see things through.

David Paul

It's like Tilly has had advanced training in ignoring boundaries. Now hoping for a Peridot-style redemption arc!

Hanners needs an Ellen:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XZ03vnXJ2bo

Jumpy James Johnson Junior

Don't worry, they'll die on the way back to their home planet soon enough ;-p

Patrick Jackson

I would think that would just be the start of the path. I don't think your path is complete, and you are ready, until you have at least caused a famine or civil war in a 3rd world country.....

it's almost like Hannelore has a daughter or something :)

Freya Thurell

Tilly-taffy is rapidly becoming very annoying.

Chris Crowther

My cat's name is Tilly :)

mooviies

That Tyler the creator reference tho.....

Spacey02111

Ahhh Hannelore's Mother's plan becomes clear. Once Hanners murders her first employee her journey to the Corporate Dark Side will be complete and she will be ready to take her rightful place at her mother's side.

Rudolph Gerber

Friends help you move. Real friends help you move the bodies.

Man, someone needs to hit that girl with a triple dose of Valium. That much unbridled enthusiasm CAN'T be healthy.

Ian Wolfe

I wonder what is going on with Tilly. I suspect she might turn into a sympathetic character. Assuming Dora doesn't kill her and have Faye help hide the body, which is ALWAYS my fallback position.

oh hey, it's bleminda

Waffliesinyoface

Urgh. I would have a meltdown. I agree Hanners calling her Taffy is a defense mechanism, and she deserves a lot worse than that for the way she won't take no for an answer.

At this point Hanners is getting her name wrong to depersonalize her in case she has to #releasethevirus.

Gary Walker

Oh jeez that was a bit much tilly taffy

Kyle Major

Stop weirding out Bleminda, Taffy.

Charlotte Grubbs

Tilly, sit! Stay! It's funny because my cousin has a dog named Tilly.

Jamison Town

Though N7 girl was Marigold for a bit. Man, I really hope we see Marigold soon XD.

Kevin

no chiggity

darklion

"I'm Commander Shepard, and this is my favourite store in the citadel."

Samantha Yeaman

Good! Yell at her some more. :)

John Fiala

Large latte for Bleminda.

Gary Walker

I can't say I'm a fan of this storyline. First, Hanners is being uncharacteristically calm about this whole thing. Second, she's being a real ass not using Tilly's real name. And Tilly, underworld-style employer or not, is being incredibly insensitive to her 'client'. No, just not liking this at all.

Buck Caldwell

Someone should earn Tilly about that machi- on second thought, nah, Tilly wants to help, Tilly will find out.

Nice Mass Effect jacket.

Ting

I love how now and then I see Cmdr Shepard (N7 girl) at CoD.

Mark P.

no chilly?
