The Song Of Her People

The Song Of Her People

Would you mind telling me some examples of things people make for their limbs? I'm definitely making a couple things, like a flashlight mount and mini-toolkit, but I'm always open to new suggestions!

Jeff Lowes

It was never specified, but I think it might now have been retroactively implied. In any case, to each their own ;)

David Paul

I run a small print farm in Nebraska, we have 12 printers, a laser and a rotary engraving machine. Accessories for prosthetic limbs is a large part of what we do. Funny part is we don't do the art, we don't do the design... people come to us and ask "can you make this for me?"

With the recent and continuing advancements in technology, as weird as it may sound, it's a good time to be an amputee. I'm waiting on my new 3d printer to arrive, but when it does (for example), I'm going to be designing and printing up attachments for my legs! I love the future. :)

Jeff Lowes

That's what I got from that look and Roko's blush. Whether or not it was exactly the same as Bubbles' vision of the Fayecorn is open to speculation...

Scott Kenney

Wait, does Assam always lead to FAYE specific scent erotica? She does seem to be giving side-eye that direction...

Raina Lowry

Thank you for sharing your perspective! So many of us hope that advanced robotics will provide new options for the people who need them. It is the greatest purpose of robotics!

I have a pair of what are essentially "entry level" prosthetics; carbon fiber foot, aluminium pylons, carbon fiber sockets, etc. I'm hoping to upgrade soon, but legs are expensive! And personally, I like to keep them exposed. I'm proud of my prosthetics. They're like badges of honor, showing the world the crap that I've been through!

Jeff Lowes

did you opt for the new prosthetics or do you just not worry about it? There are some incredible things coming out -- almost cyborg or bionic person level... electric nerves, carbon fiber running struts a la portal... I am really sorry you lost your legs -- and at the same time science fascinates me in this area (didn't mean to seem offensive or crazy)

Freya Thurell

I'm a double below knee amputee, so I have to admit, I'm always curious to see how this world handles limb replacement/repair, whether it's a prosthetic limb for a person or a regular limb for a robot!

Jeff Lowes

And that's how Officer Basilisk wound up with an amputation fetish. *rhythm fill*

Gary Walker

For sure, I didn't intend to exclude Danielle's comic. Whatever tea Roko's sniffing in 3427 isn't mentioned, which I why I asked if Assam was the culprit, given its similar effect on Bubbles.

Charlotte Grubbs

Oh, I thought the song was just a work in progress that Faye adds to with each customer.

Charlotte Grubbs

Why not both?

Eric Rucker

I know! I'm just saying you could do the same with "glue it" or "glue feet" but, I imagine it's a welding job.

It's stretched out "go eat".

Trigon Manthree

I LOVE this. Roko is definitely a Pearl, Bubbles is definitely a Garnet. But I agree, I hear Seven of Nine's voice for bubbles. And, I personally hear Scully as Roko's voice. Faye sounds like Courtney Barnett if she were from Georgia, now that she's sober and not trying to hide her drawl.

Lolllll she doesn't want to go on a magic carpet ride with the Assam while Faye and Bubs are in the room. :D

I enjoyed the reference to May's facial repair and assumed it was intentional!

I was wondering whose face meat she was talking about.

Oh shoot it's supposed to be FOOT meat!!!

Jeph Jacques

She strikes me more as Seven of Nine from Voyager.

Unanimous D

I too assumed it was a reference to Danielle's guest comic, but 3427 makes sense too.

Mark

And Bubbles as Garnet. Confirmed. 100%. Settled. Petition to make Canon.

Gino Arizmendi

It seems to me that "and gloooooooo eeeeeeeet" would have also rhymed but I can't imagine Faye uses glue on robot parts.

I'm wondering what it would be like for a robot surgeon to sing a song before operating on me. I think I'd be disturbed, but still like it somehow.

Kristian

I presumed it was a reference to this guest comic (which I'm definitely considering canon): <a href="http://www.questionablecontent.net/view.php?comic=3556" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">http://www.questionablecontent.net/view.php?comic=3556</a>

Peter Jensen

Clinton must be keeping his hand clean, else he'd have been back in by now.

BobC

So can we assume the tea in this comic was Assam? I think I can understand why she wouldn't want to experience that particular vision in front of Bubbles and Faye. <a href="http://questionablecontent.net/view.php?comic=3427" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">http://questionablecontent.net/view.php?comic=3427</a> (tw sexy unicorn)

Charlotte Grubbs

Have YOU ever loved your job so much that you had to do a song and dance routine before starting? ... Me neither. *sigh*

Rudolph Gerber

That's it, I can't read officer Footcop's dialogue and hear anything but Crystal Gem Pearl's voice.

Unanimous D

hahahahahahahah

Freya Thurell

At the coffee shop: "One Assam tea to go please, and make it strong"

Andrew

Presumably Hannelore had something to do with the tea's effect on her. I don't know what she did, nor do I care, I just know that Hanners can be perhaps THE most dangerous human in this world.

This song was written by the team of Sven Bianchi and Pintsize. Gross doesn't begin to cover it.

Does this mean that the technoerotic effect of assam is confirmed?

Brendan Jones

Someone appears to be savouring this moment, for some reason XD

David Paul

I'm pretty sure we all need to read the rest of the lyrics.

Celine Chamberlin
