Yeah, I was thinking that too. Glad it wasn't just me!

You know how it is with that personality type - they believe they can keep spinning the plates forever, right up to the point it all comes crashing down, and long after they should have seen the time had come to run, but didn't....

Bit confused about the whole process anyhow. So far we know that there is a foamed crystal lattice and memories are stored in a diffuse manner, but equally, we know that a AI can be offloaded from a fried chassis to a pc then re-uploaded to a new chassis (because this happened to pintsize in the early strips) and edited for new hardware etc.

The whole comic has just been a setup for her capture.

Um. What if this was a trap? Did Our New Friend here just walk into a jail cell? I don't like this one bit.

We've found a witch... may we burn her? -_-

Would you have preferred "Jam it" instead. Most human exclamations make little contextual sense to A.I.s given their etymology....

They don't need the whole CW, just the bit with the AI drive in it - Bubbles could easily go fetch just that bit...
David Howe

Next stop is the CW's AI drive, to see what CW remembers of the event, I guess.

Depends on how the storage works but yeah, the data could be broken into a hundred pieces and hidden all over Bubbles' mindscape

All those moments have been lost in time, like tears in rain.

Unless Corpse Witch kept a copy of the memories.

Oh, I thought there were no traumatic events and it all was a Corpse Witch fabrication to control Bubbles.

That's where I went, too.

Yeah, we haven't had a clear explanation on why the data couldn't be backed up somewhere else. But I could also see the story going forward with Bubbles just having to deal. All her guys died, right? *It's in #3060: She keeps the name to 'honor their memory.'

I'm really hoping the monster wasn't the memories.

Mysterious Creature With Red Eyes might be making a false assumption here. I would expect her to back up the data before deleting it.

And did anyone else notice that the skin color on the ambisexual agent is virtually exactly the same as the room color inside of Bubbles' memories? Hmmm....
Brad Knowles
2017-01-22 05:22:06 +0000 UTC
Hmm. So, did killing "the beast" in the room send an alert to CW that someone was tampering around inside of the memory of Bubbles?
Brad Knowles

Oh, and did weird-group-mind-vampire-person really just say "Blast"?

Oh, they may still be *somewhere* Not much leverage if just leaving the data there where anyone might tamper with it.

I don't like it one bit, but it does feel very "on brand" for Corpse Witch
