So far we know that there is a foamed crystal lattice and memories are stored in a diffuse manner, but equally, we know that a AI can be offloaded from a fried chassis to a pc then re-uploaded to a new chassis (because this happened to pintsize in the early strips) and edited for new hardware etc.
