There may be more going on than just not wanting to give up a familiar safe place: looking at panel 4 of strip 3316, I get the distinct feeling that Bubbles is very deliberately not elaborating beyond "Yes" when Faye asks her if she'd know if someone were being 'taken for a ride' and if she'd know what to do. Bubbles' response doesn't actually indicate that no one is getting shafted, nor is knowing what to do the same thing as taking action. I wonder if Corpse Witch has additional leverage on Bubbles beyond just the fact that she works there.

like the Goblin king said. "that'll do it." Honestly this is likely going to be a strong character development point for Faye. I am banking that she will fall off the wagon here really hard and go though some serious thinking. honestly there wasn't tons of room to develop her story further in this field she was kind being written into a corner here. so possible predictions. 1. Faye falls off the wagon we don't see bubbles for a bit (don't worry shes toats coming back.) Faye picks her self up in her tough southern gal way puts on her smarm again and gets back to business pn her own. OR Corpse Witch finds her heart and realizes that what she needed all along was a good ass kicking to put things in perspective. at which point she offers aye her job back. now that isn't necessarily 2 paths that could literally be 2 story arcs leading to the same point. but my guess is faye might decide to go into legitimate uhhh. Robotic Medical Care? Mechanical Medicine? you know what I'm getting at.
