Sweet Revenge (Animatic) [6m]
Added 2024-07-26 13:02:39 +0000 UTCThis video is a little rough around the edges, there are lots of things I dislike about how it came out but I can't be too upset as it's a 6-minute video I finished in 10 days.
The big one for me is that there's not enough pay-off, I think its because I do the story first before doing the good size stuff, so I end up being too exhausted to do the details.
Future videos are going to have better size material ^^'

If you're looking for a suggestion, based on your statements here, I think a blend of this and your actual animation skills might be the way to go. Infact, I've seen a other artist/animator do this. You simply devote all the time upfront to all the "good bits" you wish to animate, then you do something in this style to fill in all of the story bits and set up before, after, and in between of needbe. The animatic style you used here REALLY lends itself well to mood setting, so you can really get some intense payoff when the animation kicks in. The result being one where you can tell a story (something you clearly enjoy, and which really works well with the niche youre carving) whilst also having the animated bits as the cherry on top. Janner's Arcana Sutra series is an incredible example of this. They've also changed up how the story bit works bit in each episode. This is by no means a critique, but merely a suggestion based on your thoughts here. If I could ever find the time to self learn how to do this stuff, it'd be how I would do it after watching you and some other creators. I just don't even know where to start, to even begin doing any of this.
