Jeph, I just wanted to reach out and let you know that your art has been touching my life for years. Thank you for giving me an easy way to contribute to your patronage. You've brought more joy to my life through QC than you could ever realize. Thank you, so much. For everything you do.

2014-06-06 14:33:06 +0000 UTCC'mon, man. I'm sure there's more important shit for you to write angry run-on sentences about. Be cool.

2014-06-06 03:22:38 +0000 UTCSorry, not trying to antagonize or anything, I've just got healthcare costs on the brain. My union is renegotiating our contract, and one of our big things is the rising insurance premiums (10-20% per year).

2014-06-05 19:27:18 +0000 UTCHey I love the comic and I admire what Jeph does. I'm just saying it'd be a nice gesture to remove ads if readers are paying him what basically amounts to a better-than-decent salary. It's not like I'm being a wanker about it; it's a reasonable question.

2014-06-05 16:02:52 +0000 UTCJeph has a proven track record of creating more things I want to see when he has more resources. I trust that my support gives him an added measure of independence to do more of those things. As for your tone, please remember Wheaton's law: "Don't be a dick"

2014-06-05 12:13:00 +0000 UTCInteresting to know. I just had to change from cc to Paypal as my bank thought Patreon was committing bank fraud!

2014-06-05 11:22:47 +0000 UTCWell, praised be the idiots, for they will receive well-made comics with a decent plotline, gentle insults by obnoxious birds and music as well. Too bad :)

2014-06-05 07:23:29 +0000 UTCPlease inform us, o mighty one, what we should be funding instead, since you seem to know so well what we should be doing with *our* money. Mediocre is, like, your opinion, man. A lot of people love QC and want to support it and its creator (who, by the way, has no job-given insurance or retirement plan). Also, even when he misses deadlines, we get yelling bird, who is freakin' hilarious. I take your congratulations with deep sincerity.

2014-06-05 03:54:12 +0000 UTCConsidering that Jeph is self-employed, and therefore probably has to deal with his own insurance, retirement plan, etcetera, that money probably won't go as far as it would for a yearly salaried employee. I like to think of it as the "incentivize Jeph to not run off to become an oil tycoon" fund.

2014-06-04 20:03:25 +0000 UTC"Scraping by" on $4600+ per month? That's living prettttty large.

2014-06-04 19:53:36 +0000 UTCYay, QC on patreon! It's been on my rss reader for the 6 years, I'm glad to be able to give something back. Let's go, 5k!!

2014-06-04 19:15:27 +0000 UTCI'd rather the ads exist than not as long as they remain unobtrusive and quiet. I like to maintain the illusion of my webcomic entertainers as being comfortably provided for rather than scraping by and in fear of poverty as is usually the case.

2014-06-04 03:57:51 +0000 UTCAre you going to be removing the ads from the site now that you are being so generously supported by your readers?

2014-06-03 01:05:47 +0000 UTCan observation I got from another cartoonist on Patreon: more of your patronage gets to the artist if you pay with PayPal, rather than a credit card, because the overhead percentage is lower.

2014-06-02 14:25:12 +0000 UTCI have been reading QC geez.. At least 5 years now. It is the first thing i do when i log on in the morning, on weekdays, and have reread it from start to finish several times. Far and wide my favorite webcomic. Glad i can finally contribute a little something to the brains behind the operation, even if it is only a very little something. Great work, can't wait to see where it goes from here :)

2014-06-02 13:53:02 +0000 UTCQC is on the list of tabs to automatically open when I start Chrome. I spent most of my vacation last year just catching up from the start, now I get sad everyday when I can't see a new comic after the daily one lol
