From A to B
Added 2022-03-09 13:00:00 +0000 UTCHere's a little background look at the different stages that art for the game goes through, from its very inception all the way to the final product as seen in the game.
The pose for the characters was consciously chosen to communicate something about both characters. In the mage-route (specifically after the time-skip) we encounter a Sarah who is slightly more confident in her place in the world, and this rediscovered confidence comes through in her relationship and attitude towards Samayra. Whereas in a lot of potential routes prior, we see that Sarah tends to be more passive, by this point in the story she is slightly more assertive in how she behaves, both by being older as well as being stronger.
In the art itself, we see Sarah who occupies the more dominant/assertive position, with a calm-expression, while Samayra is more passive/submissive, and has a more hesitant-expression.
The art ends up I think very effectively communicating what the relationship between these two characters is like, and what their personalities are.
