Normally, I’m very self-conscious about the imperfections in my art, often subconsciously comparing myself to more skilled artists. But having to compare this piece to an earlier version of my own work made me realize just how much I’ve improved in only a year— and that made me very proud of myself.
I was stuck in a shitty place creatively when I started this whole project. Even if great things were happening in my life— like moving to a new place with my partner and graduating from uni— I felt like my art wasn't going anywhere, and I would have been stuck in my call center job I had at the time.
Now, every day I get closer to doing this for a living, and I couldn't be more grateful to all of you. So once again, thank you for your support!
