Character Q&A Session #12

Question for Rayco/Gara. If your parents were alive, what would you say to them?

---

Rayco:

“If my parents were alive…” Rayco purses his lips and lowers his gaze, his expression thoughtful. “I am uncertain, to be honest. In the past, I tried many times to search for their souls in the Well of Eternity, and yet I’ve never been able to find them.”

“They didn’t come to greet you even once?” you ask.

Rayco shakes his head. “There could be many reasons, but I stopped questioning them long ago.”

“Does that make you resent them?” Albert asks.

“Not really, but it does make me wonder…” His words trail off as he pauses to think. He blinks slowly and raises his head. “I don’t know how it would have been growing with them by my side, but sometimes I do wonder how the sound of their voices was, or if my laughter sounds similar to theirs. But most importantly… I wonder if they’d be proud of me.”

“They would have. I’m sure of it,” Enid replies instantly.

Rayco chuckles. “Really? You’re not one to talk in absolutes like this.”

“True, but this time I know for certain.” Enid smiles broadly. “Because I am.”

Rayco returns the smile, his gaze softening as he looks at the celestial spirit. “I’m glad. Because your pride is the only one I need, amidi.”

Gara:

“If my parents were alive…” Gara purses her lips and lowers her gaze, her expression thoughtful. “I am uncertain, to be honest. In the past, I tried many times to search for their souls in the Well of Eternity, and yet I’ve never been able to find them.”

“They didn’t come to greet you even once?” you ask.

Gara shakes her head. “There could be many reasons, but I stopped questioning them long ago.”

“Does that make you resent them?” Lavina asks.

“Not really, but it does make me wonder…” Her words trail off as she pauses to think. She blinks slowly and raises her head. “I don’t know how it would have been growing with them by my side, but sometimes I do wonder how the sound of their voices was, or if my laughter sounds similar to theirs.
