The air feels thick in your throat, and your body still trembles from what just happened. You shake your head to clear the initial shock and fix your gaze on Belicar.
“What… what was that?”
“A simple parasite,” he replies, shaking off his claw with disdain. “It clings to whatever it can, hollows it out, and leaves it to rot. Not so different from others I know.”
You frown. “No. I mean why you saved me.”
Belicar lets out a low chuckle, almost amused. “You have an annoying habit of thinking I’m against you, MC. But don’t worry, soon enough, you’ll understand my point of view too. Until then… it’s your turn.”
