Patreon Ramble #10 - Waiting for What's Next

Hey Patrons!

I spent today responding to all the messages on here and figured it was as good of a day as any for this month's ramble.

This time I truly rambled, talking about a little of this and a little of that. I didn't have a single clue what I was going to say going into it but hey I think it turned out pretty nice!

Thanks for the continued support. I hope you're all having a nice day.

Love, Joel

PS: Random shoutout from the end of the video, subscribe to Haunted Wifi, this video is my favorite of theirs - https://youtu.be/9Vl8ykaNZz0

New subscriber. Big fan of your videos, they make me smile and laugh so much, your style is so unique and it makes me super happy to see your growth over the past few months on Youtube! Great to see you enjoy creating so much and want to keep creating every day. I look forward to following your journey!

Please tell me as soon as you want to get your movies regulated by european authorities. I think direction sibiria is a great area for distopian comedy sci-fi movies too. Mongolia, Japan. Life is short. You're lucky to live in van land! Did some research lately about DIY e-vans. I love the idea of driving home for christmas mood all year long!

Glad to be Patron number 1000! Keep it up man :)

Indeed,

I recently bought a van and I'm working on it and trying to live in it due to homelessness. What kinda van do you want? Do you wanna get an old already factory converted van like a chevy 20 or do you wanna convert a van yourself?

lmao, do those people get paid doing that?

Brantson Ludwig

hey I put the animated RPG guy into a strip club in VRChat... "Adventure awaits... hazaaaa!" https://youtu.be/Gb45XSQjbxI?t=131 lol (2 mins in )

If you're rolling thru Oklahoma, try stopping by in the Dallas, Texas area! Richardson/Plano/Frisco is a really cool mesh of small town/city vibes and we have tons of stuff to do here. PLUS we have a nice art scene (Dallas Makerspace is sick). And to top it off, if you wanna live here, there's no state income tax lol. Glad you're doing so well, you deserve it!

Having recently moved out, I understand your feelings towards your hometown completely. It was a strange feeling the first time I came back, haha. I wish you the best in your journey to find a home , and look forward to your future projects and content!

Always a couch for you to crash on in North East PA. Would love to create something with you man! Excited for you!!

Your "Sir! What are your orders" video is blowing up on reddit because someone made their own r/wallstreetbets version and they linked the original in the comments! Congrats

I'm envisioning some hardass 70 year old bouncers kicking you out if they discover you're not just visiting. Also reminding me of Maebe posing as an elderly lady to live in a retirement village in the recent Arrested Development season, that could be an option for the time being.

Dane Blythe

all of your videos are such a nice comfort right now. really glad i found your channel

Thank you, Joel. You are a gem.

I didn't watch this video, but I *did* just watch "Sir! What Are Your Orders?" and increased my contribution tier.

I’m a little sad that you’re going to be leaving the Boston area as you’re the first creator that I’ve found that I follow and like that is near me, but it’ll be fun to watch you create around the country and find the right place for you!

Also, Upstate South Carolina is ripe for the picking for odd characters, beautiful nature views, and cheap cost of living. You have friends here if you ever stop by!

Kitty Payne

Since I found your channel, I've shown your videos to pretty much anyone that will humor me. I can't wait to watch you grow even more!

Kitty Payne

It's where I thrive, I live for that type of stuff! Happy you're excited for it as well!

Joel Haver

I'm gonna find the sickest locations across the nations for those van life rambles, I'm stoked!

Joel Haver

I actually have an uncle down around Pensacola so it might be perfect! I'll keep the other Joel in mind!

Joel Haver

please do lebron vs MJ for the next one

As someone who grew up in a small town (and did public access-type of tomfoolery before YouTube existed) but now am a city dweller through and through, I look forward to seeing you explore and create in rural (or at least non-urban) environments.

Ed Ouellette

Awww yeah bro Joel Haver road trip movie flippin gnarlyyyy. Does this mean the Patreon rambles will turn into “van-life” vlogs? I’m all for it.

We raised $1,500 through Kickstarter just as a safety net to support ourselves so we could spend a month focusing on the film. As far as money spent strictly on the film, it was less than $50 and almost all of that went to rodeo tickets hahah!

Joel Haver

I love that there's an audience for me being my authentic self, that feels really nice. Your hypothetical driveway is immensely appreciated :)

Joel Haver

Two thumbs up, my dude!

You're a wonderful regular-ass dude and I like the things you do :)

Untapped ASMR potential! I’m actually kind of curious, if you remember: how much did you and Dylan spend (if at all) to make 31 Days in Marshall Carolina? I watched it again not that long ago - such a fun film.

These are so refreshing to watch. I love how authentic you are, I think it's hard to find these days. Excited for the adventures of Joel on the road! I would offer you a driveway on Long Island, but I don't have one. But if I did I'd definitely let ya park in it lol.

Sarah Murphy

Hey if you want to see some nice white sand beaches drive on down to Pensacola, Florida and I’ll always have a spot for your van haha. Would love to visit the other Joel one day!

Joel Sexson

I had a public speaking class in college but I mainly used that as a performance art class hahah. It really boils down to practice, like all things. Put yourself in enough situations where you have to speak and be interesting and you'll get better. For me those situations were the occasional theatre performance growing up, being class president in high school and the big one making films. Being on camera simulates that public speaking experience quite well, but allows a comfortable distance from the audience allowing it to be a little less nerve-racking. Hope that helps!

Joel Haver

I'm really glad you feel that way, I like making these. As I mentioned in the video, they're nice and simple to make and I get to end the day happy I got something made. Thanks for watching.

Joel Haver

I felt your brain waves and had to act fast!

Joel Haver

I'll definitely keep that in mind! Thanks for the offer!

Joel Haver

Thanks for another ramble! (Ditto to what ThatGuyLouis said.) Weird comment here but I admire your speaking abilities—i.e. talking for so long off the cuff while being coherent and enjoyable to watch—any tips? Lol

Really enjoy these videos whenever they come out. It's like a nice relaxing update from a friend you haven't talked to in a few weeks. Thanks for these Joel.

thatguylouis

No joke I was just thinking “I wonder when the next ramble is.” Thanks for sharing

If you ever need somewhere to park your van in Grand Rapids, Michigan, I've got a driveway with your name on it.
