I Made Over 150+ Films in One Year

Hey Patrons!

A year ago today I began making weekly short films on my YouTube channel.

In the past 52 weeks, I've made nearly 160 shorts films, 1 feature film, with another feature so close to complete. It's been a crazy busy year.

This year has had many high highs and low lows, as I'm sure is the case for everyone. These films go a long way to keep me grounded, keep me busy and keep me laughing. I hope they can bring you similar comforts.

In the video I touch upon some feelings towards the industry. People making their own movies and proving the uselessness of the systems within the film industry is something I'm very passionate about. I try to be cool, calm and collected when discussing it on camera, but maybe someday you'll see a much angrier rant from me, hahah! It's very much my life goal to help lead a movement of people fed up with bending over for festivals, distributors and corporations, and just making and releasing movies themselves. It's ridiculously possible nowadays and nothing excites me more except maybe a nice kiss or cool dog.

Thank you so much for all your support throughout this. It really means the world.

I ain't stopping! So here's to another year of movies!

Love, Joel Haver

Thanks man!! I try my best to put out not only good stuff but lots of it! It’s amazing how quickly you see yourself improve and evolve if you push yourself to create as much as possible. And YES! I would love to be in a toon!

Thank you so much! I'll gladly check it out!! I usually have a backlog, but try to get around to watching things people send me in a timely manner. Excited to see it, love to see people in a town come together to make something happen. If there's one thing I've noticed, it's that many people love the idea of making movies, they just aren't shown that they can. I did a feature in 2017 where my friend and I went to a small town we'd never been to and made a movie with the locals. Everyone had a blast and it'll always hold a special place in my heart. Here's a link to that if you're interested - https://youtu.be/jRG6ufvEReE Wish you the best! I'll let you know when I watch your film!

Congratulations on your incredible milestone. I agree with your sentiments and hopes as a filmmaker. Now is an incredible time to be making movies. Since you mentioned it in your video, I was wondering if you might check out a feature length anthology piece I put together awhile back. It's unlisted on Youtube here: https://youtu.be/i7s2fDIlUGY It's a series of interconnected short films that I was prepping to put on Amazon prime. Some of the feedback I got from the first couple of viewers was to cut the credits from each film and have them at the end. I think it was a good note, but I've yet to go back and do that. I'd love to get your opinion on the series if you give it a watch. I think the films have a distinct comedic voice so that's something I was happy to discover as I made them. They're all no-budget/DIY shorts, but I learned a ton making them and love them each in their own ways. I'm happy and thankful to live in a town with a lot of other supportive actors and filmmakers (Sarasota, Florida if you're wondering.) I hope you enjoy it if you find the time to watch it. Congrats again on your amazing accomplishment and what appears to be record breaking productivity. Thanks for making your movies.
