Dr. Who Reaction - Wild Blue Yonder

Information: Sorry about the black screen in various scenes. I had used a new Deodorant that left some pretty ugly white stains on my black shirt. I thought it´d be best to spare you from that look. Don´t worry, never gonna use that Deo again :)

Oh yes, I sometimes do that, to take a picture of me looking a little different to how I really liked the episode. Not many times thought. Sorry if I made you question my judgement for good episodes for a second there :D That ending broke my heart, I mean the scene before the doctor came back. That would have been the worst ending of a companion ever. Donna 100% deserves better than that :) Yes Mister Cribbens is missed by me as well. What a lovely person he was. Hmm I don´t know what to think about that rose topic tbh. I thought she was 100% non binary, since they introduced that concept to us when Donna and Rose exchanged the binary, non binary call. At that time I thought this was them letting us know, but I´m not so sure anymore. Yeah the robot was cute :)

I had never heard the term Mavity before that episode. Tbh I thought it was just some gibberish that rimes with Gravity but has no meaning at all :D Haha yes that rating page picture :D I was SO surprised at first, but after thinking about it, it wasn´t really a big coincidence, given that this image is the one that sticks with you when you watch the episode :) Ohhhh thank you for the explanation of that rating. Tbh, I didn´t remember my rating at all. I just knew that it´s my most favorite episodes of all time, so I thought that rating might be accurate :D :D Thank you though for making that page. It´s so much fun seeing all those ratings in hindsight. :) But why in the world would 100 Billion be silly as a rating for that episode? I can´t see your point :D :D :D

"Doctor, come back! She's not me! I'm me! You've got the wrong one! Don't leave me here!", Donna, "Wild Blue Yonder" This was a bonkers story with moments that were intensely still and quiet - I loved it! "Oh, I see! When something is gone, it keeps existing.", The Not-Doctor, "Wild Blue Yonder" There was secrecy about the plot of this story - which is an indication that there might be a return of a named actor or well-known monster. But the director said that they kept it secret because the fans would find it fun to to watch the show without knowing what was going to happen. Well, of course! I love not knowing what will happen - that's why I watch. "What was that delightful word? Savity ... Havity ... Mavity!", Newton, "Wild Blue Yonder" I like the fun little diversion to meet Isaac Newton in 1666 - (recall that's the year of the Great Fire of London) - I like meeting historical figures. And then Isaac's funny decision to use the name "mavity". But it's interesting that after that, Donna refers to the corridor ship having "artificial mavity" and she also doesn't know what a "gravity field" is - everything little thing has an effect. BTW: to join in on that joke, the official Doctor Who YouTube channel edited some their YouTube video descriptions to use the word "mavity" - like a clip about the "anti-mavity" motorbike in "The Bells of Saint John". "Is it bad?", "It was brand-new.", Donna and the Doctor about the TARDIS console room, "Wild Blue Yonder" I love the look of that new TARDIS console room. I feel the the Doctor's pain. "There is one hope. A mechanism on board the Tardis called the HADS - Hostile Action Displacement System. If the Tardis is in danger, it goes away.", The Doctor, "Wild Blue Yonder" The HADS was first introduced in a second Doctor story and then I don't think it was mentioned again on TV for 45 years until "Cold War". "Your car, milady.", "Thank you, Parker.", The Doctor and Donna, "Wild Blue Yonder" That's a reference to the 1960s "Thunderbirds" puppet series - I'm a fan of that series so I love this! I love that the Doctor and Donna both know about that TV series - I LOVE THIS! "Time passes and the city falls. It all gets swept away. And there's the TARDIS ... still on its outcrop ... by the sea.", The Doctor, "Wild Blue Yonder" We are reminded of the holo-Doctor description of the TARDIS just remaining on a street corner and that the world would move on and the strange little box would be buried. There's also an echo of "The Ghost Monument" here too. "Wilfred Mott. Oh, now I feel better. Now nothing is wrong, nothing in the whole wide world!", The Doctor, "Wild Blue Yonder" Seeing Bernard Cribbins was a shock to me - and a lovely one! That episode image on the ratings page was quite fun - I could see your reaction to the match of the two selected images coming! Now, about the 1000003.5 rating for "The Day of the Doctor". You were so in awe of "The Day of the Doctor" you forgot to give a rating on camera. I checked with you on discord and you said that it would rate it a maximum of 3.5. Then, you mentioned 100 Billion - but that was obviously silly! So we agreed on 1000003.5. However, it would have been much funnier if I had left it at your original 3.5 - just to see your face when you went back and checked!

I was quite relieved that you enjoyed this episode so much as the screenshot looked like you were not very happy at all. I liked it a lot more watching it a second time as the first time around the obvious green screen did slightly distance me from the story. But this time around I didn't really notice that so much and of course it is a great story. Plus the Doctor and Donna dopplegangers are very creepy indeed. Plus plus the bit near the end when you think that real Donna is going to be left behind had some real jeopardy. We know that the Doctor will be all right in the end but it wouldn't be impossible for Donna to have yet another tragic ending. It would have been cruel beyond belief of course but not impossible! I am guessing that the scene at the end with Wilf was what they were preparing to film when I waited in vain at Camden Market. Either way it was wonderful to see him one more time on screen. I think that the wheelchair was actually needed by Bernard Cribbens at this stage. A lovely man who is still sorely missed by everyone - including me. Re your comments about last week. I did not get the impression that Rose was meant to be identifying as non-binary. I think she is supposed to be transgender and the point when Dona and her say "binary -non binary" together is just a) a call back to Donna repeating the word "binary" in her last episode and b) a reference to the fact that the two of them share the results of the metacrisis. ie it was too much for one person. That was my understanding anyway. Loved the robot. It's a shame that the Tardis couldn't rescue him/her too!

This is one of my favourite episodes of all time to be honest. I thought it was excellent. In the same company of episodes such as Midnight.
