Update for July

Hey everyone, just wanted to send a quick update.

We are gearing up for a new release by the end of the month, possibly early August if we need the extra time. This next update will take us to the very beginning of the final dungeon, which means that the main story will be finished sometime this fall. Very exciting stuff!

I am also working on getting a big art update for $10 and $20 patrons. Among the many, many things I've dropped the ball on with all my mental health crap going on, is keeping the higher tier patrons up to date on new art. Losing track of these things is purely my fault, and I've got to keep doing better. I'm sorry for those affected by my inconsistency, and once I have a more formal process in place to keep track of these things on my end, I'm hoping things will be easier for me to handle.

Speaking of patronage tiers and whatnot, please be aware that once the main story is complete, we will be revamping the Patreon in order to prepare for the start of I Live To Serve, Dungeon King!! development. That means there is going to be a tier shakeup, as well as new benefits at all tiers of support. We are way overdue to reexamine how the campaign works already, and I feel this is a good milestone at which to look things over.

Starting in August, we will be making a big push on art assets for Harem Collector. I am hoping that by Christmas this year at the latest, all the old 3D Custom Girl assets will be fully replaced, which will then mean that we can get on Steam, which will a massive boost for our reach and will let us find new audiences. I appreciate each and every one of you, but we've always struggled to get word out about the game, and I hope through Steam we can recruit even more supporters to help us make ILTSDK the best it can be.

Now, a difficult topic: you all know how badly I want to keep Bad Kitty Games' work free with voluntary support. When I made the BKG tagline "Quality adult games, for free, forever", I really meant it. I hate the thought of attaching a price tag to my work, and I would much rather continue to give things away for free, so that as many people as possible can enjoy the hard work of myself and the team. Ideally, with a little bit better organization and more reach through Steam and other platforms, we can still make that work, and I really badly for that to happen.

But, we are all familiar with the nightmare hellscape we have to live in. Cost of living is skyrocketing, and including food, rent, basically everything. Eventually we might come to a place where BKG's monetization policy has to change. While I am looking to other avenues to support myself, I am not the only person on the team, and Conash, Kumiho and Yuno all deserve to be properly compensated for their labour. While I am committed to continuing to distribute HC for free, we might not be so lucky with ILTSDK, which we may have to distribute as a more traditional game launch.

I am making no changes at this time, I just want everyone to aware of what's on the horizon. This is also not asking anyone to increase their donations. It is a privilege for BKG to receive your support, and I am grateful for it. I just want to make everyone aware of the direction the company is headed.

As always, thank you all for enjoying HC and supporting it's development. It's been a long time coming, but we are almost at the end, and I'm looking forward to finally being able to show you all a complete experience.
