Therese, Larelle and Yeon Collaring Situation

An issue has come up in staff discussions that we will have to make a determination on soon, and before I make any sort of decision here I'd like to hear the opinion of you all. As backers, you have a financial stake in the completion and design of Harem Collector, and as this is a major decision that affects gameplay, story and budget, as well as removing things from the existing game, I feel you deserve to have your say.

We are considering removing the option to collar Larelle, Therese and Yeon before convincing them to become sex slaves willingly.

The impetus for this debate comes from the fact that, as it is, once work begins on Larelle's sex scenes this October, at our current rate we would be doing nothing but art for Therese and Larelle for just shy of a solid year. This is something we'd like to avoid, if possible, since one of the main features of Harem Collector is the sheer number and variety of the harem girls on offer, and progress on the art going into the game is one of the things holding development back.

So, as things currently stand:
-Larelle, Therese and Yeon have the option to be collared early and turned into mindless drones.
-Each girl will have support for this "mindless" version in the form of alternative sex scenes and art.
-Larelle and Therese's solo scenes will come up in the art queue starting in October 2018 and ending in September 2019. If the $2000 tier goal is reached, then the art development pace will double (ending in February or March 2019 instead)

The proposed changes are:
-Remove the option to collar Larelle, Therese and Yeon early. The fact that a slave collar can affect a person in this way will remain a part of the game lore but it will not be presented to players as an option.
-Scrap the plans for two sex scenes and one alternate Sex On-Demand scene per character.
-Remove the currently existing dialogue for these options from the game, saving on a probably negligible amount of memory.
-Work on Larelle and Therese's solo sex scenes will probably end around June of 2019.

Enacting the proposed changes will save about $1800 USD worth of art budget and around four and a half months of art development time which can be put towards other uses. The only sex scene already in the game that will be affected is "Assuming Total Control", a sex scene for Larelle that does not have new art yet.

The new space and flexibility in the budget will probably be used to get the elf impregnation orgy into the game, and either the solo scenes for an additional non-party harem girl or introduce the remaining three midgame harem girls to the game.

Please let us know what you opinion is, and do not hesitate to comment with further details or whatever questions you may have. This poll will run for one week, ending at midnight on June 27th.

I think this is a great idea but I would like to see more girls added to the harem and not so much focus on old content or upgrades save that to the end for the final release of the game. Focus more on new stuff and more girls and even complete some of the harem girls you already have sort of started. Besides that your doing a great job and thanks for letting us add our 2 cents ^_^

I think it's fine to remove it. I do think, however, that there should be at least 1 or very few characters who join your harem only if you make them mindless drones with the collars. Maybe some characters that you get very early on and the only way you can get them in your harem is to put the collar on them. Then you could have a time when the player wants to remove them cause they don't want mindless slaves in their harem. But that's just an idea :D

Sammy Rebbo

I understand it from the budget stand point but I don't like the removal of the option because we aren't exactly a good guy or a bad guy and it reinforces the collars can be a bad thing otherwise it will become obscured lore that most players don't even think about. maybe add a tip on the option that it isn't recommended because it doesn't have much resorces put to it or something on those lines that way you can just put it on the backburner for last touches or something.

Geariah

Personally never forced the collar issue, and tortured and gifted them til they accepted taking a collar. But to remove it at this point, Yeah take it out but keep the lore and it is shown with the nuns when we capture Therese. So it does show the consequences of forcing it on. To me that was enough of a look to see what happens when it is forced as they don't do anything unless you tell them to do anything and they become lifeless dolls and that is not my cup of tea.

I only mind wipe Yeon (cause I hate her) but 4 months of art time on something it looks like almost no one does is wasteful. Keep the option, make it text and save the art for last or not ever if it comes out as wanted by <1% of players.

I've also never used the option, so perhaps I just don't know what I'm missing, but part of the charm of this game is how it is bursting with personality. So why pick an option that locks you out of it? If these three aren't willing to play ball with us, let them rot in the dungeon until their attitude improves!

Got it, so ill be same just no collar, guess the "hero" will have to work his charming skills more lol hope this change helps a lot.

Leveler All

We have no plans to change the way girls are recruited out of the dungeon at this time, but that could change in the future.

I feel this will be more practical for both sides, having a dron character only works if it has some effects in her mind, changin her dialogue and making it interesthing in that way, a simple puppet is boring, that say my only doubt is, how will this affect gamplay? will the way we convince them to join willingly by giving gifts or "torture" be the same as before when they are on the dungeon?

Leveler All

I never liked the idea of turning the characters into mindless drones makes it less fun I want them to serve me willingly by tossing rock candy till they gave in lol

Vega Chaos

Can't say I really care for the option myself and if it's causing headache I say let it go. I get that some people like the idea, but it seems impractical at best.

Troqu

I enjoy the added lore, but I personally have held little interest in mindless drones. it's far more fun when they still have their personalities

I have a fair amount of thoughts on t he matter. Voted the third option, but that doesn't exactly reflect my thoughts on the matter. I think I'll go around on the forum, and make a thread/post in an appropriate one to express things in a more thorough manner.

Ranakel

I would feel bad for the people who do enjoy turning the characters into mindless drones, but I personally have never done that and have no interest in ever doing that, so I'm okay with it. And spending four months on updates I might never even get around to seeing wouldn't be particularly enjoyable either
