Changes to Patreon Goals

Hey everyone!

First of all, as I promised, the backer devstream is now available to all patrons regardless of level.

I also decided to re-examine the Patreon goals and come up with some exciting new things to look forward to.

The big milestones that I want to reach are the ones where we can hire more artists per month and get things done more quickly. Everything will be done eventually, but with multiple artists working on the game at once we can more done, and have more robust updates. Hell, if the stars come right and we manage to clear out the backlog before I'm done developing the main story, we can look at taking scene requests again.

I've eliminated references to animators and background artists at previous levels, because, well, anyone with the talent and skill we want is valuable, and hiring them at those levels just wasn't realistic.

The "Merch" level has been pushed back to $1800. The reason for this is because the merchandise buy-in is much larger than expected. Hopefully, when merchandise starts happening, the proceeds from older merchandise will go towards developing new merchandise and everything will sustain itself that way, but the first step is a pretty steep one.

While I've spoken to a few animators in the last couple of years, they are pretty expensive, so I've pushed the animator level way back to $2500. I can live without unioque animations if you guys can, so I feel it's a low-priority "nice-to-have".

As always I'd love to hear feedback from everyone concerning this, so I can better shape the Patreon page in the futue!

The public release will be coming this Wednesday! Though if you'd like to play it now, please consider becoming a backer as the backer release is already available to $2 and above backers!

Sure I get that Ill keep an eye out and stuff. Though since most of them are students probably wont have much of an idea on how to ask for a price but ill see how they feel

I don't have a budget for it yet. Our current "floating contractor budget" is currently going towards sprites to facilitate the changes to the game's UI, and once that's done I'm going to prioritize the sprite for the last maid so we can implement the Southport manor. If you want to investigate and get me an idea of what animators would expect to be paid, that would be fantastic!

I think students around school might be able to do that what would be the working budget for those things? Yeah I get that and I will trust your judgement on artist

I'm not trying to animate the scenes, I just want to have custom made spell and skill animations for battles. And, if there's time and resources for it, an anime-style opening and closing video. As for artists, I'll try to aim for roughly compatible artists, but without the resources to offer anyone a salary this is how it's got to be. Sorry for any problems!

What scenes are you trying to animate? My school does have the media and gaming department so if its not H I could ask around. While I understand how more artist can help speed things up I am leery that the styles might become noticeably different as I have seen in other games. Excited about the merch even if it got pushed back just better opportunity for good stuffs
