Even if they do evetually break it off, it's at least looking like they'll be able to keep their friendship intact.

Mike even knows this, and basically outright told this to Daisy. Mike doesn't see Sandy as the center of his world anymore, so I'm not so sure she'll be the center of his attention even if she's there in person.

She knows Mike didn't enjoy shopping very much and she didn't like gaming, so they can go to the mall together and still do their own thing while still knowing they were there together and having fun

He knows he has made mistakes, he knows that he's not perfect, he knows that he did what was wrong, and he probably knows a lot more about himself than he realizes now more than ever before. Even though this is the path he has now decided to take, I'm hoping that this will not benefit him because he said what was needed to be said and now, they are apart.
