Classic Who Reaction- Spearhead from space Part 3

Classic Who Reaction- Spearhead from space Part 3

I love how they were able to revive and develope further, the storylines for some enemies of the Classic Who episodes. Like the autons. They wanted to do so much but couldn´t and now in New Who they are finally able to it :) Thanks for reminding me of the term recoil. That was the one that I was missing :D Thank you for the videos about the construction of the theme song and the second documentary. Wow it was soooo much work to create the theme music, nowadays you just push some buttons on a computer. Times have changed. :)

"I had no idea you could be so gullible", Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart to Liz Shaw, "Spearhead from Space" Ok, not much happens. Except, we find out that ... ... Autons can shoot people with the guns in their hands! Remember, that was new in 1970 - New Who viewers saw it in "Rose". ... Autons can duplicate people - albeit with slightly plasticy faces! New in 1970 - New Who viewers saw this with Mickey in "Rose". ... Autons don't like dogs. Or perhaps dogs don't like Autons. Either way we feel sorry for the dog. ... the Doctor can be a bit sneaky. This is all new in 1970 - and in COLOUR too! Really exciting. Actually, we've always known that the Doctor can be a bit sneaky. The sequence where the Auton is breaking into the cottage to get the energy unit with the old woman waving the shotgun at it is quite stressful - even if the lack of recoil on the shotgun is a bit of a blooper. And it's sad that poor Ransome escapes from the Auton workshop - far enough that he is out of range - and then UNIT bring him back into range of the Autons where he is eventually zapped into total destruction without a trace. Incidentally, the actor playing Ransome cut himself badly when he was climbing over the barbed-wire. BTW: the Doctor Who theme arrangement at this point is still basically the Delia Derbyshire's arrangement from the 1960s. I know you saw the Peter Howell contruction of the 1980's theme, but have you seen the short video on where they talk about contructing the 1960s theme? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xkIEkLww3lg There's another bit of a documentary from the 1960s showing the Radiophonic Workshop and Delia Derbyshire talking about their work at the time - although not directly related to the Doctor Who theme. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qsRuhCflRyg IMDB: 8.0
