So a viable egg is one that is able to be fertilized. The eggs like the kind you buy at the supermarket are not viable. You can introduce sperm to them and nothing will happen. They are only viable while inside the chicken before the shell hardens. If you take an egg and remove the haploid DNA from inside it and replace it with the DNA from the stem cell of an individual of the same or similar species, that egg is now a zygote clone of that individual. It will begin to divide and grow. What proteus does is set up the machinery of the cell so that it is ready to receive the DNA of the individual to be resurrected. Egg makes an egg, but it's all messed up inside. Closed for business. Does it even have a ribosome? Who knows? Proteus fixes it all up and makes it nice. He renovated the eggs. Elixir started the eggs life process (which would be ocomplished by inserting the DNA IRL) This is not unusual, all animals come from eggs. It's just that mammals keep the eggs inside until the baby is ready to come out. Then the egg breaks (water breaking) and the baby comes out. Biology is wild. We yearn for longer content. I like the idea to split it up but a combined giant video with maybe some addendums would be great once the series is over

2025-09-08 01:09:50 +0000 UTCFun fact: Hickman was EXTREMELY close to signing with DC to reboot New Gods. Which Hickman has said several times one of the only two titles he’d go to DC for. The other being Legion of Super Heroes. But when Marvel pitched Hickman to be head of X Office with the Krakoa era he took most the ideas from his new gods run and adapted it to the X-Men. He also read Dune A LOT. There are even direct parallels between Dune and his X-Men run. Fun fact number two: A lot of left over pieces Hickman couldn’t figure out how to use he was gracious enough to let Ram V pick his brain and take a bunch of ideas while also making them of V’s design.

I know too little about Krakoa to really be able to contribute ideas, and I imagine a lot pf people who watch these videos are in the same boat
