Monster Hunter Wilds - HDR Optimized Settings

The game is NOT using/applying Xbox, Playstation or PC HDR Calibration app settings.

The HDR implementation is just ok as even if the game offers many different in-game HDR contols, including Peak HDR Luminance (but not in nits value), the picture quality is still a bit off compared to SDR so additional adjustments are needed.

First of all be sure to have 120hz Output enabled (if your TV supports it) in order to leverage Performance Mode and VRR, then keep HDR Output to "Automatically Enable" and click "Adjust Screen Brightness (HDR)" to start the actual in-game calibration.

Here increase "Max Brightness" slider until the exact point/click where the pattern will vanish in the white background.

You can now move to the next section and leave both Overall Brightness and Highlight Brightness sliders to their Default/Middle/10 position, but decrease Shadow Brightness to 9 in order to fix a slight black level raise

In this last section, leave UI Brightness slider to its Default/Middle/10 position, but increase Saturation slider to 6 in order to be comparable to SDR color saturation.

Enjoy :)

Hello, are there any changes for the final version?

Elmicha

It depends as usual. If you game on PC and/or mostly in a dark room HGIG, otherwise DTM.

Should I have HGIG or Dynamic Tone mapping for the game?

Ownsin

It's for any TV. Just follow the steps.

Is this calibration for HGIG? And for which TVs? My TV is C2.
