Until Dawn (2024) - HDR Optimized Settings
Added 2024-10-07 13:20:44 +0000 UTC
The game is NOT using/applying Playstation or PC HDR Calibration app settings.
The game has a fairly good HDR implementation as it offers an in-game Peak HDR Luminance slider (not in nits) which can go up to 2.000 nits.
Min luminance is also adjustable and when set to 0 black levels are perfect (no black level raise).

If you have an LG OLED and:
> you're using Dynamic Tone Mapping or Dynamic Contrast:
Set HDR Max Luminance slider to: 100 (Max; which will be around 2.000 nits)
> you're using HGIG:
Set HDR Max Luminance slider to: 50 (which will be around 800 nits) or 60 (for G2/C4) or 80 (for G3/G4)
If you don't have an LG OLED and:
> you don't have an HGIG option:
Leave HDR Max Luminance slider to: 60 (which will be around 1.000 nits)
> you're using HGIG:
Set HDR Max Luminance slider to the exact point where the logo disappears
In all cases, set HDR Min Luminance to 0 as that will correspond to perfect black levels.
BONUS:
Disable both Film Grain & Chromatic Aberration: for much improved picture clarity

2024-10-17 15:04:47 +0000 UTCP.S. The PC launch version has broken HDR in-game (HDR sliders work as intended and HDR is active in the menus, but in-game it's SDR). For now disable HDR in-game on PC and use RTX HDR if possible, waiting for a proper fix. Console version is fine. Hopefully it will get fixed soon also on PC.
