Fallout 4: True Next-Gen Overhaul

With patch 1.10.980, Bethesda finally updated Fallout 4 and all its DLCs with the long awaited "Next-Gen Upgrade"...but the reality was much more disappointing than expectations.

Except higher framerate on the current-gen consoles and a slightly FPS bump on the PC version, literally nothing else was actually "upgraded" like most people where hoping for.

Some things actually got worse, like AutoHDR support now completely dropped both on consoles and PC...

So, following the stellar hype that the Fallout TV Show left on me, I ended up like:

After many hours of research and testing, I'm glad to announce my:

Fallout 4: True Next-Gen Overhaul Mods Collection (for PC)

Main features:

4K/HDR GAMEPLAY VIDEO

Let me know what you think of it.

Personally, I'm (literally) having a blast.

Enjoy! :)

Well then no, you have to stick with Windows 11 AutoHDR which will only work for selected SDR titles, not all.

Ya but got a amd card

Emil Mathisen

You can with RTX HDR now (which will auto convert anything SDR in DX9-12 and OpenGL-Vulkan through a small NVCP setting change to HDR10) I can clearly see by eye when a game is SDR or HDR but I also measure them and post results here :) But to be sure usually you can just launch them in Exclusive Full Screen mode and you would see the usual HDR logo triggering on the TV when launching them.

P40L0

Unrelated question but can you use hdr on every pc game? Like how would you know if a pc game supports hdr?

Emil Mathisen

Thanks brother! I appreciate the update

Victor Luong

Just an update: HDR is back thorugh AutoHDR support now re-enabled. But RTX HDR remains the best option if you have it ;)

P40L0

For sure. Unfortunately native HDR is out since the next gen patch, so RTX HDR remains the best option (on PC) for now

P40L0

If there happens to be HDR implemented (native, not auto) as a result of today's update, let us know how it fares 😋

Ah my bad, was browsing on a Mac (with no Vortex installed). I was looking for a traditional 'download all' button. All good, downloading on the PC now! Thanks!

Luke Spring

Be sure both Vortex and LOOT are installed on your PC, you're logged in in Vortex and Fallout 4 folder is ready/linked to Vortex. You have links and instructions for both here: https://next.nexusmods.com/fallout4/collections/4lmnvs Then click the "ADD TO VORTEX" button up in the page to begin download and install everything automatically.

P40L0

I'm probably being stupid, but how do I download all of these in one go on Nexus Mods? (I have premium)

Luke Spring

Honestly I don't think I will as I consumed so much time to create this collection on PC that I almost have nausea to think in re-doing it again on Xbox (which is way more limited at mods support and there's no way to re-enable achievements there once mods are enabled)... Generally speaking, if and when you find the same mods also on Xbox mods' search go for it.

P40L0

Will you make a post of recommended mods for xbox?
