Update

Hello, my awesome supporters! Today I wanted to post a short update on what's going on development side.

1. Deviously Cursed Loot 7.0

The new version is making great progress. Two quests from the poll have already been fully implemented and play-tested. The first is the Chloe quest, where you find an imprisoned courier in Fort Helgen, right after the dragon struck it. Corrupt imperial guards put the unlucky girl in jail so that they could confiscate her shipment. Free the girl and help her recover her goods! The wild journey will take you from Fort Helgen to Whiterun and even to Dawnstar (oops, did I just give away who the courier is working for?), and since this is Cursed Loot, guess what sort of items the shipment contained! Chloe can be found right after completing DCL's LAL quest, so DCL will now feature a full kinky start to the game that can be played while the main quest unfolds, or in place of it. It's anything but short too, and should keep you busy for a couple hours. Oh, and you get to keep Chloe as a follower, if you want.

The second quest that's already done is Supply and Demand. The Dollmaker ran out of supplies for her devices, so she employs you to fetch her more. The supplier is a bit eccentric, so instead of accepting money, you will get to work for him. No, not THAT kind of work! Actual work. If you remember the poll, there were two quests that were not quite as popular as some of the other choices - Cleaning Duty and Chef in Chains. And after pondering it, I think you guys were right - these quests probably can't stand on their own in a meaningful way. So I made them part of this quest instead! Part of Supply and Demand will make you dress up and go clean some dirt! In Riften! Yes, Riften. This shady place really can do with some TLC, because these thieves never seem to clean up after themselves! And you get to make fish burgers! Of course you have to gather the ingredients first. Tied up, that is! This is still Cursed Loot, and we can't have it any other way!

Right now I am working on two features. The first is not yet announced and was not part of the poll either. I decided to work on it because I feel that there is a feature in Cursed Loot that fell short of what I intended it to be and is way less fun than it should be. I am talking about the dominant followers, Leon and Leah. Feedback on Leon and Leah was generally that people loved the introductory quest, but didn't like Leon/Leah as followers. And I realized that neither do I. I never let either of them dominate me in my own playthroughs, for they are just too harsh and take over gameplay without giving much back in terms of fun or enjoyment.
But when I looked at making changes to them, I realized how difficult this would be using the existing code, for their behavior is very much hard-coded and driven by a very large and less than elegant dialogue tree. So I made the decision to re-implement them from scratch. And I since this is now my third go at coding a dominant follower (Sasha being the second), I want this to be the last one. So I made sure that nothing about their behavior is hard-coded and can be changed very easily. The result is what I call the Extensible Dominant Follower Framework (XDFF). XDFF is a rule-based system for modelling Dom/sub relationships. It takes advantage of the circumstance that most aspects about such relationships are rules, e.g. "You need to kneel in my presence", or "You need to wear a blindfold when you sleep". With XDFF, these rules can be modeled in encapsulated scripts and attached to a handler that selects rules based on their type (e.g. permanent rules, random rule of the day, errand etc). The rules script contain all necessary code to evaluate compliance, hand out warnings or even punishments etc. No part of any rule code is located anywhere but its own script.
Why is this cool?
Because it's really easy to add rules or dialogue to a dominant follower, even from 3rd party mods. If it turns out that people don't like a certain rule, all I need to do is clicking on the rule and delete it. Or if If people want a dominant follower to behave differently, they can even write a plugin and make it happen! And the best thing is that XDFF works for arbitrary NPCs. Any character can be a dom, not just Leon or Leah.

The second feature under construction is a new quest called Saving Sasha. Which will change the way you can acquire her as a follower. You can no longer just purchase her from the Dollmaker, because the Dollmaker already sold her. Unfortunately the man she sold her to doesn't like her, and instead of marrying and pampering her, the meanie just locked her away! You will need to save her!
Now, without going into too much detail, but this will probably become the largest quest I ever made, and it will feature a totally new and original location I am absolutely sure people will love!

2. Devious Devices 4.2

I recently merged the first commits to the DD dev repository. We have changed plans for 4.2 a little, and will probably release a new version rather soon, containing a few new features that will make it easier for DD mods to migrate from ZAP to DD. Which, given the situation on the ZAP end, is a high priority right now. DD 4.2 will provide new keywords to mark items with, which will make it easier to create NPC comments and actions based on what devices you are wearing or what material they are made of. It will also bring factions to model slavery or dom/sub relationships, mods can use to communicate NPC status to each other and ensure compatibility. This feature is meant to replace and enhance the corresponding feature in ZAP 7.
Other than that, DD 4.2 will feature new bound animations to introduce more variety to that end. It also will implement a new feature for devices, that makes it easier to model restraints with release timers.
Also, development on the upcoming DD furniture component is fully underway. The framework code is already mostly complete. It will make it easier than ever for content mods to use furniture devices in their quests and stories, and provide features far beyond anything in ZAP, such as locking and escape systems, timed devices, spawnable devices, and full NPC support. And the best thing is that furniture devices work out-of-the-box with DD restraints, so people don't have to code clunky workarounds for ZAP furniture anymore!

Making good progress! XDFF is fairly complex now and in a condition it can be used. I already replaced the old system I made for Leon/Leah with with. I do consider XDFF a "feature in ongoing development", for I expect to receive quite a bit of user feedback on it. Jack - well the meanie will probably learn a few new tricks down the road as well! :)

How is development going? is the new XDFF system working as you had hoped? I had a question; do you have any plans on doing anything more with Jack (obviously I mean in future and not DCL 7)? Maybe let him bind you after removing the belt like his fallout counterpart. or maybe talking to him in a tavern when not belted could lead to something.

I typically do not set planned release dates, not even for myself. I define a certain set of features I want to add/improve and then work on these until they are done. That being said, DD4.2 will probably launch before DCL7.

Sounds great! Any estimated release date or how far are you from release for each of those mods like 50% 75% etc? Also will you release them one by one or all together when they are ready? Asking because im wanted to start new game soon and wonder if should i wait or not :) Anyway thanks and keep up the good work!

XDFF is for -dominant- followers, not submissive ones. It won't affect Sasha's behavior as a sub at all. Leon and Leah will use the new system, but in theory any NPC could be your dom using XDFF.

XDFF is meant to use ONE NPC at a time and make him or her your Dom. But yes, it can use any actor. It's not hardcoded for Leon and Leah.

XDFF interacts heavily with DCL (using its features and devices etc), so putting it into a separate mod would result in a lot of redundancies and additional work.

Hello Kimy, wouldn't it make sense to put XDFF, as it provides framework functionality, into DDi? Or maybe even it's own mod?

Hi Kimy, I wanted to add some follow-up to my last comments. so 1) will this XDFF framework now make it so regular NPCs will go after ANY female (follower or otherwise) and bind her - for example if a female is wearing the Magical leash necklace or posture collar? Will the time-lock that is on chastity belt be applied to other restraints? 2) Will this allow (pre-existing) submissive AND dominant PCs - when want to relax can PC now bind follower instead of just asking to be tied. 3) this might be because of multiple marriage mod, but if marry either Sasha or Leah/Leon will be able to keep their distinct dialog trees - after marrying Sasha for example, I can no longer restrain her or ask her to change in any of her other outfits worried how that would affect L/L. 4) Have followers be Submissive or Dominant OR Switch - the fact that Leah uses general response of like to be tied... I am really looking forward to revamped Sasha and Leah and having Alice around. P.S. Any progress on bound fighting skills - is it still in pipeline moves like Dragon Kick, Stone Fist, or Acro Circus a la River City Ransom - effects get heightened and further along ;) Looking forward to next release.

Hello Kimmy! I like your ideas very mutch, especially the XDFF one. But I have some questions about it: 1. this means you completly remove the submissive follower feature? As I know only Sasha has some limited options to get dressed into some restraints, but I love to use it (with follower mods disabling her combat to prevent her to kill everyone on an immersive way). I use a lot of mods and their updates requires new game starts that leads to an owerpowered Sasha every time if I wish her to join me in the beginning... 2. I guess this will include only submissive player perspect, but is there any plan to include dominant player too? I use PSH+HSH to capture, tie up, dress up into kinky restrictive clothing, train and play with pretty female bandits if I'm in that kind of mood (that's why I prefer Sasha tied up when I go hunting). Will the XDFF interfere with PAHE slave factions? 3. If the XSFF is on the plate, will be the D/s relationship exclusive or parallel? In short: do we have any chance to have switch followers? This all sounds completely amazing, i just have one teeny tiny suggestion. Itll be really great if you could allow users to decide what restraints will be put on during the supply and demand quests. Because some players like me dont mind any of the restraints except the belt/metal bra. I am immensely hyped and looking forward to the release of this :-)

We talked about reverse prayer armbinders, but for the time being, it's not on our to-do list. The reason is simple: Any new bound pose needs a new set of AA animations. DD has two types of armbinders already, and this would add a 3rd. Given that we need to be mindful of people's animation slots, we rather decided to use to few remaining slots we can reasonably use for other devices we don't already have. That doesn't mean that reverse prayer restraints won't happen. It just means that we're implementing other devices first and then see if we can justify using another AA set for this purpose.

Neither. The new animations are bound sex animations that get played instead of regular SexLab animations when one or more actors are wearing wrist restraints. We have struggle animations for devices other than just wrist restraints btw. In 4.1 we added struggles for belts, boots and more! There will also be more to come!

Dear Kimy,I have some suggestions to you,if you can accept I d be very honored. I wonder if you can add a latex catsuit with the wearer’s arms behind her back in a reverse prayer and leg binder,she can only take it off by others help.And the reverse prayer arm binder itself should be the hardest arm binder the player can take off.And a sucker hood which is a latex hood with only one hole is a ring in her mouth,the wearer can only use her mouth for sex but no word can say

You told about new animations in DD 4.2. Is that would be struggle animations or idle animations? There was one thing that was really enjoyable in ZAP 7.0, but still stayed out of DD: when your character's hands was tied up, sometimes she clasped hands in fists, shruged her shoulders, twisted wrists in bonds. All of that made animations alive. Of course DD has struggle and idle animations but I think things like this also needs. It's ok while your character wearing arm/elbowbinder device types, but not while wearing front cuffs or yokes.

Hope there will be other jobs than just those two. Hate to say it, but the Supply and Demand quests that you posted do not sound appealing, and instead sound boring. Tedium is one thing you should avoid in making something fun.

For now, Chloe is not meant to be a dominant follower, but more a questing companion. That doesn't mean she's generic, although she will be using standard follower code and dialogue. I plan to use her in the Saving Sasha quest as well and will likely add some kink features somewhere in the future. Her being a prominient character in several DCL quest should give her much more depth than the average generic follower.

I thought about it, but XDFF is so tightly integrated with DCL that this would have meant a LOT of extra work for me. So it will be a part of DCL. But it's still possible to write plugins for it as separate mods.

I am developing on LE, but both DCL and DD are available for SE, and the new versions will get ported to SE as well, probably shortly after the LE versions release.

This is amazing will you release XDFF as a separate mod or will you add it to Cursed Loot? Also, can you give us a list of Furniture that will be in the First release of the Furniture Framework?

Can't wait for the new version. Chloe sounds fantastic (first thing that comes to mind is the Alice questline from fallout) can't wait to get free from the DCL start and right back into getting tied up lol. After the quest will Chloe just be a standard follower or will she be a candidate for the XDFF system? The system goes totally over my head but more to do with Leah and presumably Sasha is something I look forward to
