Update, info and all that
Added 2024-01-21 05:30:09 +0000 UTCSame as always, more NSFW at the top, less NSFW towards the bottom:
1. Played WDC, it's a pretty cool game and the Patreon sub there is $2. It's basically a 3D idle game where you level up to unlock new floors of a tower, each floor has a different appeal, like one floor is a beach with women in bikinis, one is c-flation, one is Fantasy themed, one's about feet, one's about sci-fi and restraints and such, and so on. It's so varied that I can kinda recommend it to anyone. Free version's behind the Patreon by two updates, and Itch is behind by one. Game updates every week on Saturdays.
2. Had some leftover Steam credit from Christmas, so I picked up Hole Dweller and Palworld for "free" in a way. Hole Dweller is great, highly recommended. Also on Itch. Palworld is cool, but I only had half an hour to try it out before IRL stuff got in the way. Definitely more "ARK" than "Pokemon", IMO. Seems great so far, with some little jank here and there. Hole Dweller is more advanced than the last time I played, way more fleshed-out.
3. Made another attempt at fiddling with VR Chat and Resonite, trying to get a model to work in there. No luck on learning Unity, but Resonite doesn't use Unity at all, and the only issue I ran into was having to test a whole new rig for my model. Worked decently well, I got to run around as untextured Bixxti, so that was interesting. Forgot to check if shape keys worked, heh. I think you can literally drop VR Chat avatars into it and have it work 100% right away, but don't quote me on that. I really should just learn how to work Unity or something, I still have a long-term goal of making some sim games with pumps and such.
4. Atlyss just got a big new update and it's free. Super cool game, it's a legit RPG with great character customization and stats and skills to play with. Not really NSFW at all, minus some GIGANTABOOBA body sliders and the NPCs being 20' thicc mommies. Also the game's jiggle physics are crazy. Still just a demo though, so everything's a bit underbaked.
5. Had some IRL stuff go on, some renovations and whatever, plus some family member issues, but almost everything went better than expected, so a lot of worries were unwarranted. New garage door, too, which is a great help because the previous one weighed, no joke, about 500lbs and the spring was busted, so it was like deadlifting just to get it open. The funny part is this new door is so light and the spring is so springy that the door is comedically easy to open, but is hard to close, heh.
6. Motorcycle is still sitting around; it's like it was cursed, I needed it plugged into the battery tender, but it was unplugged so many times by several different people unplugging it because they didn't know what it was for, and I almost wanted to glue the plug in. Battery is 100% toast now, and now there's something wrong with front brake. Will replace the battery at some point, but I feel like that's just a waste because it's just gonna get unplugged again, and I don't have the time to ride it, so I've considered scrapping the bike (it's not in good condition and it's like 40 years old), or taking it apart just to use it as an excuse to learn more about how it's assembled, and make it easier to take the parts to a scrapyard or a dump.
7. Grandpa's still getting better. Grandma's still getting worse, getting more confused, getting into more stuff, throwing clothes in the trash and the trash into the hamper, picking sesame seeds out of the bulgogi I made her because she thinks they're "bugs" even after I said they're not. Worst was her turning the living room into a bathroom twice in one hour... right as a contractor was inspecting the house. 🤣
8. Oof, family tree just lost another older family member, this one was pretty close. On top of this, we've got three other older family members with terminal illnesses, which is crazy. (One's been like that for about 30 years though.)
Comments
Been learning Unity and Blender myself (partially so I can play with and tweak your models) and yeah, Unity can be a pain to work with. Haven't really gotten down Resonite yet either, but it seems easier than vrchat. Glad to hear that things are mostly okay on your end, though!
