I've been organizing all the visual art for this new episode. I’ve been reviewing the results and wanted to share them with you.
In the Limbo, Gustav encounters his own body and Arkadios’ soul. This is how they manage to break Rakshasa’s curse, and the beasts get Arkadios back.
I’ve been focusing on the most dramatic part of the episode, especially this scene.
Summary of content:
I’ve been doing my best to make the story hit important points while cutting unnecessary elements. I had plans to include Orcs in the Limbo, but I’ve decided on a new approach:
We’ll focus on the main story and move forward with the battle between Rakshasa and the beast-men, and later we can add things that make the situation more fun.
About the test video:
Dialogue lines run very fast, sorry about that. I pressed “space” too quickly between each line.
I’ve been translating the dialogue, and there are a few lines I still need to adjust.
Before the battle:
Players will choose their fighting party.
Originally, there was just one fight with no choice, since there wasn’t time to let players pick allies. But now, I think it fits well where I placed the ally selection.
For now, you can only choose 2 allies, though technically you could go in with just one by pressing READY!, but that complicates things.
I hope to allow up to 3 allies + the player (Gustav) in the future.
In battle:
The choice of the first ally will make Rakshasa have a different line for each character, which can also affect his dialogue with the beasts.
Maki Battler:
I’ve wanted to add this battler to the selection, but we need more sprites, and the ally selection page has also been a problem.
I’ve spent a lot of time organizing the code for this part, and when I add Maki, it will take a bit more work—probably ready by next month.
