Welcome back!
Thank you so much for joining me again!

Here we will take a look at thinking about how the instrumentation and choices of an orchestra/band might influence the mood of a song or how you would dance to or interpret it at the time, using Lissa Fakir as an example.

The two version used here are:
"Lissa Fakir" by Mokhtar Al Said from Jalilah's Raks Sharki 1: Classical Egyptian Dance Music
And
"Lissa Fakir" by Ahmad Al Hafnawi from the album The Grand Melodies of Om Kalsoum

I do not own the music. No copyright infringement intended. Music here is used for teaching and educational purposes.

I am also sharing with you my fav Lissa Fakir performance, by none other than Fifi Abdo with a live orchestra.

I love Fifi's softness here, how she is sitting with the music ever so present with it and at no point doing too much or over thinking it. She is right there with it and bringing her own personal joy to it. There is such a calmness yet such a presence. Love it.

I also really love Shahrzad's take on it as well. Shown here. She brings some drama while maintaining a softness with it. Very beautiful:)
