Also I mask a lot. Including in relationships, I tend to act how I think you are supposed to or how I think my partner wants. Not good.

2024-08-23 07:56:12 +0000 UTCAs an autistic girl, thanks!!! One thing I would add would be lots of autistic people have Alexithymia (difficultly understanding their emotions). So this could lead to sending mixed signals or difficulty communicating with their partner how they're feeling.

We just found out that my youngest granddaughter, Grace, is on the autistic spectrum level one. All of my 4 grandkids are adopted (1 Ronnie 10, Grace 12, Mahayla 15 & her bio is sister, Katlyn is 18). Coming from foster care we don't know very much about their history so this was a "surprise" for everyone but me. I thought she was but I wasn't sure what level until Monday when they were told. The information you shared is immensely helpful. My daughter in-law has no idea what to do. I just texted her and told her we need to Skype tonight but get rid of the "pine forest" in the house ASAP . Thank you Ellysa, so much.❤️
